    Ashe is a boy, Aura is an Elf, Ember & Ashe are adjacent to you, Aura is 2 sq from you, you are 5' down the ladder of a 12' vertical tunnel that opens up into the top of an 8' diameter sewer tunnel (where Telgarth is standing).


    I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot... Can't wait to play live and take a respite from some of the cumbersomeness of posting...

    Except for the fallen, who drop what they're holding when they fall, everyone but Angelus is holding something in at least 1 hand, and you need at least one hand to climb a ladder, but not to jump or fall.

    ...I think, Angelus might be holding something too. There is a nice ring and broadsword lying next to Telgarth, I know. Not exactly sure what everyone else has out. I don't think anyone put away any of the Mayor's gifts...

    I don't think Angelus picked up any of the items.

    Angelus had a dagger in one hand and the other is free (dropped sunrod last round).

    So I'm kind of around the corner from Ashe. Since he's adjacent I'll grab him as a minor, and as a standard pull him in to the hole and let him drop. Move: I'll teleport to the bottom, in a square next to the hole, not underneath it.

    Whoops! Telgarth didn't fall, Ashe did. Telgarth is still holding a nice rind & broadsword. Whatever Ashe & Aura was holding onto is lying on the floor in their square.

    Looks like Aura is down next to Ember (to her NW)

    I'll try what Blade did.

    free: drop my staff of defense into the tunnel and say catch
    minor: grab Aura
    standard: pull & drop her in the hole of the tunnel
    move: jump into the hole of the tunnel

    She may use Firedeath interupt on falling damage (depends how much it is)

    Ashe holds a sword and a shield normally but also has the gloves of storing to put stuff in and out of so he doesn't look like a weirdo most of the time.

    Brad got Aura's HP right. She was at 13 then took 8 from spirit dispel and 14 from being shot.

    Alright, we're going to back track this round...

    REDOING THIS TURN, Angelus moves over the sewer entrance jumping down. Angelus would have taken 2d10=11, but with acrobatics trained, 32/2=16 doesn't take any damage, but Telgarth '6' didn't save, and has 3d6=9 'falling object' damage.

    Angelus is prone in Telgarth's square directly below the vertical tunnel to the sewers.

    Telgarth's redo turn...


    (now that there's 2 (conscious) people squeezing in the same square, should that affect future 'faling object' damage saves?)

    Angelus needs to make a save at the end of his turn for Daze. He gets +2 to his save from his armor.


    As far as damage to PCs from falling objects I would think the same rules should be used whether there is one PC or more than one.

    If you're going to say they get a save for full/no damage then both should get a save.

    Distributing the damage would be more realistic, but also more complex.


    If you do use saves... Angelus gets +2 to saves would use the re-roll from his circlet on the first failed save (if he missed his save vs Dazed, he'd reroll that first).

    a sunrod was dropped two rounds ago. Why can't Telgarth(who has low light vision) see further? Is there no light?

    Can I stay where I am without being in the landing zone? Or move adjacent? - the thought is to feed a body a healing potion if one lands next to me.

    These answers will dictate my next actions.

    You can see farther since a sunrod was dropped. For the most part, (& for simplicity's sake), all the sewer tunnels are either straight & true N/S or E/W and usually very long, spanning underneath the whole city. Iow, you can see farther N & S, but all you see is straight tunnel. (No other baddies in view)

    No, you are underneath a vertical tube, so anyone jumping/falling can only land in your square.

    Yes, but Angelus' turn is before you & it looks like the rule's going to be that he can continue his movement (up to 3 more squares, I think), so he might take one of the adjacent squares first.

    First save, 6+2, fail, using item to re-roll, 9+2 not dazed anymore only because of both items...

    (If it's pretty unanimous that you get to continue your movement, where do you want to be? It'll definitely affect Telgarth & Blade's actions...)

    Yes, redoing last turn, so you are 5'down the ladder (head still exposed to the cops) and it's your turn to repost actions. Note: Because of Telgarth & Angelus' revised actions, currently the square directly below you is unoccupied, but both adjacent squares are occupied.

    Right now just what's there: The bottom of the stairway is lit, as is the area to the N of the stairs where the 2 large bathrooms are. The part of the basement where you guys are would be pretty dark if not for you guys' lights. ...but their full riot gear does include flashlights too.

    Depends on the free action/actions. That's a soft rule even in the DMG.

    So I still need to grab Ashe and throw him down, right.
    I believe this will work:
    Free: Shroud a policeman I can see.
    Minor: Grab Ashe
    Standard: Pull Ashe to the hole.
    Free: Drop Ashe down the Sewer.
    Move: Grab any of Ashe's items in the square he was in & hide as part of that move action.
    Free: Drop Ashe's items into the sewer, preferably sharp side up if it's a bladed or piercing weapon.

    Blade grabs Ashe and drags him to the tunnel and he take (wow) 3d6=5 falling damage. Since sm shields are usually strapped to the arm we'll say that went with him.

    Telgarth's ready action kicks in and drags the prone Ashe into his square.

    Blade then grabs Ashe sword drops it down too, but...

    You need total concealment, a distraction, or something else (as well as a move action) to make a hide check, I believe... You only have cover and direct observation.

    As a note cause it doesn't affect Blade but it certainly could help him. The sunrod is down the hole, Telgarth and his sunsword is down the hole and when Ashe dropped unconscious his sunsword went dark. There should be no more light in the tunnel except maybe a little bit from down below.

    Ah, okay. Thanks.

    I know it's a minor action to Drop Prone, but how about if you let go of a ladder and just fall? I can see that being a free action seeing as you can let go of an item to let it fall to the ground.

    If I can during my turn I'll fall, and use acrobatics to try to land softly.

    Prone: You fall prone when you land, unless you take no damage from the fall.

    Because of Ember's orders to arm the traps, most only do 2x moves to you, only sending 1 scout ahead to do a 2x run...

    That's right, Aura saved v death, failed save v daze, Ashe saved v both, Angelus feeds Aura a potion and she's now up with 10 hits.

    "does that move her to my square?" Why does the tail end of this encounter have so many complicated rule issues?!? :-( I'm going to say yes, she'd be in your square if you like. Her initiative doesn't change, right?

    Correct, her initiative wouldn't change. She rolled saves on her turn.

    Normally when you pick things up they're now in your square. Just wanted to make sure it held true for picking up an unconscious PC.

    I'm leaving for a meeting and will be gone the rest of the afternoon, so I'm going to post early.

    It's Blades turn. I'm assuming he will be help Ashe and his sword get out of here.
    move: stand
    minor: put on the cloak she's been carrying around.
    standard: Orbmaster's Incendiary Detonation 1 space above the trap door to the tunnel. I assume I can have it do non-lethal damage. It looks like it hits only one cop but has good special effects to make the cops think twice about pursuing.

    Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
    Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier (+6) force damage, and you knock the target prone.
    Effect: The burst creates a zone of licking flames that lasts
    until the end of your next turn. Each enemy that enters the
    zone or starts its turn there takes 2 fire damage.

    free action: say loudly "It looks like they've set off one of the three traps already!"

    Ashe is now conscious thanks to Telgarth giving him a potion so he can take care of himself.
    As a minor I'll grab Ashe's sword, so he doesn't have to.
    Is there water in this sewer? If so, which way is it heading? I'll go that direction as a move and a move.

    Telgarth feeds Ashe a potion and with a psychic power sees the scout who ran up and 24 v AC would have missed if not for his running, 17 hits. He's not quite bloodied.

    Blade grabs Ashe's sword & 2x moves N 12.

    Ember stands under the sewer entrance and 15 v ref, again would have missed, except for he ran. He takes 19 hits, is very bloodied and knocked prone.

    Most do single move forward & ready an action (proceding cautiously thanks to Ember).

    5 move to sewer entrance and open fire on Ember (the only target)...

    1 special recharges and 30vAC hit for 15=daze
    2 shoots regular 14 near fumble miss
    3 special 20 mis
    4 special 31 hit for 12+daze
    5 shoots 21 miss.

    Ashe 10/58 10/13 bloodied, prone

    You're all in a 8' diameter tube heading N/S, so there's nothing to your E/W. 70' to the N of the entrance is an intersection (near Blade) and 15' S of the entrance is another intersection. I tried to draw them on the map, but it came out a little thin.

    Some of the PC's tokens are to the side of the actual tunnel (E or W) to show both tokens. Otherwise, half the tokens would be hidden.


    Giles is usually back well before sunset, so will 'probably' return sometime just after this is all over... Remember, they came an hour before sunset, which is pretty unusual for Vampires.
