If so, I'll standard action: drop a scorching blast on her or one space east of her.
If greater then 11 spaces, I'll MM her

    free action: shead a tear
move action: 4E & 2NE I think that put her SE of Telgarth.

Yes, and she's exactly 11 squares from you.

Ember summons a burst of fire and 2+8=10, 11+8=19, 2+8=10, miss, barely miss, miss. She then laments for her new friends and moves 4E +1 NE + 1N (wall) to be SEE of Telgarth.

Ashe rolls a '16' and is still hanging on.

Gun girl seems to be readying an action trying to see into the darkness.

Mr Mui regenerates 5, shifts SE where he last saw Angel, then bends over & sucks Angel's neck. Angel is negative more than his bloodied value, and Sam recovers 1/4 of his total hits, barely no longer bloodied.

Seeing her man looking healthy again, Mercury looks much less hysterical and says, "2 just left the altar room."

Sam yells at the gun girl, holding his sword up high, "You, stay & take care of things here", to everyone else, "Everyone else, after the other two! No Slayer gets away!!"

Blade's turn... then Mercury, Telgarth, and the rest of the Vamps.

    Is Ember bloodied?

And is the stairway Vampire bloodied?

You all know that both directions of the stairway here leads down to the office level, then the casino level, then to the kitchen level, through which the door outside is. (You remember that there are 2 severed finger traps in the stairs, one at the office level, and another on the kitchen level.)

Ember is not bloodied currently with 16/30 2/11.

The stairway Vamp just unbloodied himself with regeneration, then you rebloodied him again with your last hit.

Since we bypassed these before, what kind od action do we need to bypass them again?

Delay until after Mercury and Mui move. Go just before Angels turn.

How does that affect your cloud of darkness, and the girl waiting (readying) to shoot you once she can see you again? Note: Mr Mui JUST went right before your turn.

There may be a gunshot to roll first, but Mercury is also delaying to go right after her man.

    Okay, wait...

Mr Mui just went, attacking Angel. Mercury is delaying too (basically skipping a turn). Angel is normally right before Telgarth.

Did Blade want to go now, since it would have been Angel's turn, or keep delaying?

Telgarth is after the resolution of Blade's actions...

    Move run
    Standard run

Let me know if I hit the trap as it will change my movement. However do we think the.trap triggers on every person who passes or just the first person? Thinking about chancing one of the two traps at least

    Minor: sustain darkness
Move: shift 1 N and hide.

Blade throws up shrouds & casts a magical shadowy noose that 13+6=19 v fort, barely miss. 1 shroud still does 2 hits to him. You can't shift N in the difficult terrain, but you move N 1 and don't provoke because of total concealment. 13+11=24 stealth

You're not at the office level trap yet.

Telgarth provokes an AoO with CA from running, and 10+13+2=25 hit, and takes 9 hits.

All the Vamps except the 3 (Mr Mui, Mercury, gun girl) do a move action towards the door, and ready action a move when Mr Mui goes. They are also regenerating again.

Ember's turn, then save for Ashe, then top of the order...

The big square is Blade's darkness, which I think is stationary.

    Cloud of Darkness
A shroud of blackness descends around you, hiding you from sight.

    Encounter
    Minor Action Close burst 1

Effect: The burst creates a cloud of darkness that remains in place until the end of your next turn. The cloud blocks line of sight, squares within it are totally obscured, and creatures entirely within it are blinded until they exit. You are immune to these effects.

No, but you & Telgarth can each do one simultaneously. Each check is a standard.

    Ember runs right behind Telgarth.

Ashe rolls a '17' and is still with us.

Gun girl moves to the higher part of the stage & readies an action. Blade can see her trying to spot him with her gun aimed into the cloud.

Sam does a 2x move to the door with Mercury & all the other Vamps (except gun girl) following his lead (but in front). He's yelling, "None of them escape for their blasphemy!"

All the injured Vamps are regenerating.

    Just before Blade's turn, though...

Doh. I just noticed why Ken posted the Cloud of Darkness. I can't sustain it. Got it mixed up with Shade Form.

Instead of doing my stated actions:
    Free: Two Shrouds on Mui
    Minor: Shade Form*
Move: Use the bodies around me, as well as the Shade Form, to Hide.
Standard: Use Leaping Shade if an enemy comes withing melee range of me.
End of Turn: Cloud of Darkness goes away.

    *Shade Form
You transform yourself into a being of shadow, becoming more difficult to notice and to harm.
    Encounter Shadow
    Minor Action Personal
Effect: You assume a shadowy form that lasts until you make an attack roll or until the end of your next turn. While in this form, you are insubstantial, and you gain vulnerable 5 radiant. In addition, you can make Stealth checks to become hidden if you have any cover or concealment, and you can use cover granted by your allies both to become hidden and to remain hidden.
    Sustain Minor: The form persists.

Post by Kenji Tue Feb 08, 2011 9:54 am

Blade sees something strange happening to Angel's body...

Angel's clothes and items fade away, then the nude corpse withers as if it's been laying there for a couple years. You don't know this unless you closely inspect the body, but the Zodiac scar on his bicep has also faded...

Angel: You vaguely remember this room, but as it was just before you fell a couple rounds ago, and as if it happened years ago. You remember most of your life as a Half Elf, but you also remember a time (about 2 years) in an Underworld netherrealm with a Herald of the Raven Queen Herself.

While the Raven Queen has never paid any attention to Orcus, Vecna, Nerull, and all the other Underworld deities, nor would you presume to understand the thoughts/plans of the Gods, but you still have the impression that she is actually concerned about the rise of La Magra and happy you & your friends stopped Him. The Raven Queen has sent you back...

Angel, you appear back in this room (whereever you choose to be), having just come from a long extended rest, in a different body and are now considered an Undead Revenant, though with some similar features of your Half Elf body. One of the similar features is your Zodiac Mark (which you can move if you like), and your new body also bears the mark of the Raven Queen (you can choose where, & what form if you like).

Angel has a surprise round standard action, then Blade's turn, then your regular turn, then Telgarth, Ember, & Ashe...

Okay, same roll with LS still would have missed, since that's against AC, & given the same stealth roll, nothing else should be different, except you're hidden from insubstantiality and not darkness.

Angel's surprise round, then Blade's regular turn...

Note: The horde of Vamps are not out of the room yet, so where Angel appears, & what actions he takes, could affect whether or not everybody leaves or some stay...

Updated my PC for new racial stats...

I loose Twin Strike (for now), but my monk attacks and AC go up by +1 since I'm now playing a race with a boost to Dex.

Angelus will appear prone next to Ashe.

With my standard I'll try to stablilize him.

The only thing that happened since the last map I just posted is Angel's surprise round.

The only thing inaccurate about the map is that you didn't sustain the darkness and are insubstantial and prone instead (still hiding).

Angelus' next turn will be to:

Minor: get one of Ashe's potions
    Standard: feed Ashe the potion

    Move: make stealth check

Trying to be as quite as possible.

Trying to be as quite as possible.

Angelus subtly feeds Ashe one of his potions and Ashe is back with 10 hits. You see an Undead figure lying prone right next to you that you don't recognize but know just fed you a healing potion.

    After Ashe's heal, everyone's at:

    Angelus: 34/34 13/13
    Ashe: 10/33 4/13 (bloodied)
Blade: 21/30 4/11 (drink potion last round?)
    Ember: 16/30 2/11
    Telgarth: 8/34 5/12 (bloodied, regenerating)

Up next, Telgarth (assuming running), then Ashe (welcome back), then Ember.

Telgarth/Ember: Telgarth is 21 squares from the office level trap, Ember +1 behind. The traps spring if living creatures don't make a religion DC15 before approaching within 3 squares, and then a DC15 theivery before passing adjacent the severed finger. You don't think Undead are slowed down at all by this trap.

Since it shouldn't matter, & for simplicity, let's swap Telgarth's & Ashe's initiatives so both groups are going together...

Ashe's turn (finally!) You see a horde of Vamps that so far appear to be running out the room, unless they have a reason for some of them to stay back...

    Then Telgarth & Ember...

Ashe will stay still and not draw any attention to himself since he does not see any allies in the room with him. Blade is hiding so a regular look won't see him and Angel is dead and wispy.

Since I am not really doing anything does that mean a delay or is it a standard to try and stay still and play dead? Either way that is what I am doing.

True, Blade's stealth was dc24, so the only thing you see in the room are undead. Actually, the only things in the room besides you ARE undead!

Ashe playes Possum for a round, assuming Telgarth & Ember both do 2x runs, top of the order...

Gun girl is +10 to perception and still hasn't spotted Blade and is still readying an action.

Mob of Vamps do 2x moves down the stairs.

Blade, Angel, Ashe*, then Telgarth*, Ember...

    Casino - the altar room - Page 4 Ritual27

...Telgarth & Ember's tokens are a floor below their actual position on the map. They are NOT back in the altar room.

Note: both the N & S directions from the stairs lead to the same place. The tokens behind the mob to the N are Mercury & Mr Mui (leading from the rear, as evil tends to do!)

    Is this correct?

Level 0: Kitchen area, has an exit out to the side or rear of the casino.
Level 1: Casino gaming area. There is 1 main exit/entrance.
Level 2: Office space. No windows are exits.
Level 3: Ritual room. No exits that we have seen.

It seems like both sets of stairs lead down to the office/casino/kitchen floors.

Is there roof access that we can see? Have we seen any stairs that go up from here or a door that we haven't opened?

The only stairway splits into two as you pass the office level approaching the altar room. From the 2nd level down, it's the same (only) stairwell.

correction: level one HAD 2 entrances, besides the stairs to the kitchen, but when you last checked, both entrances looked as if they were always wall. (some kind of magic is afoot)

    Minor: Sustain Shade Form
Move: Attempt to crawl through the blood toward the vamp with the gun, moving diagonally directly for her.
Standard: If I'm within 5 of her I will use Shadow Step to teleport next to here.

Blade crawls into the river of blood and notices that the floor under the few inches of blood has many ball bearings within and is very difficult terrain and very hard to stay upright. He then teleports next to her.

I think if her readied action was to shoot Blade if she can see him, and he appears adjacent, she can't attack with claws, right?

She shoots Blade (unless claw is okay, but I don't think so). 15+9-2 prone=22 hit for (1d6+4) 5 hits. (corrected gun damage)

Blade gets an AoO at -2. 12+10-2 prone=20, missed because of prone.

Angelus is playing Possum for one round.

Ashe's turn... (then Telgarth & Ember)

Pull out a potion and drink the potion, minor get sword.

I should have 1 potion left now and 20 hits.

Edit. That should also give the vampires 1 more round to get out of earshot.

If her readied action was to shoot someone based on a trigger and the trigger occured, then she would have to shoot and not use a melee attack.

Yea, Angelus was hoping Blade would wait a round or two.
    Little patience that one...

How high up is the platform Blade and the gun girl are on? Is there an easy way to climb up there?

Yeah, but they were already aware of Blade. It might have been better if he waited another round or two, but it's you & Ashe back that would cause her alarm since she thinks both of you are dead.

Blood pool to stage, a little under 5'. The lower stage to the upper stage, again just under 5'.

Ashe drinks a potion and recovers 10 hits, still playing Possum.

    Telgarth then Ember...

I'm trained in Thievery, but I guess that doesn't help you guys. Depending on your hits you might just want to run through it or at least go Total Defense when you do.

    Brad,

Do we think that both of us will get zapped by each trap? i.e. twice per level? Would it matter if we dove through the doorway? Do we have any idea what the trap will do?

And yes Mick we are both trained in religion(10), but not in theivery(5). Ember's religion is better, but we're even in thievery. So Mick will do the religion check and Telgarth will do the theivery check.

And during my minor I'll drink the healing potion I pulled out last round.

Did you add my regeneration for both rounds?

Telgarth, it is your initiative. Please clarify for me exactly what your actions are and what order are your minor, move, and standard actions. You are 5 squares from the door to the office level that has the severed finger trap on it. Ember is 1 square behind you going right after you.
