Stil waiting on plans for a number of PCs for the "off stage" 2nd-5th level part so we can start the 6th level intro...

I will make my living as a thief, since my skills and abilities lean towards it. I will attempt to steal from criminals and small time vamps to stay off the radar of local law enforcement. Will wear a mask during 'jobs', and will case each location for a week before hitting it.

Tell her it's possible that there is someone on the school board, or who has influence over the school board, that is part of the cover up.
It would probably be best if she went with a story of imagining, or dreaming, the whole thing because it's so absurd. If she wants her life back it would be best to just forget everything.
If she can't do that we can talk about it more later, but should be prepared to leave her life as she knows it?

Teams are fine, though Angelus' first choise was to team with Selena... I love you

Since we're going to be switching up on the families and Angelus doesn't really remember his, I don't think it really matters who looks in on who.

We have 4 teams and 5 families.

How many families can a team look after? If we can only look after one, then one family will not be monitored.

If we can look after two, then there will be a little overlap.

If we can monitor only one family at a time we could go with:
    Angel, Ember (monitors Blade's families)
    Blade, Selena (monitors Ashe's families)
    Telgarth, Vala (monitors Ember's families)
    Ashe, Giles (monitors Telgarth's families)

Angel, Ember (monitors Blade and Telgarth's families)
Blade, Selena (monitors Ashe, and Angelus' families)
Telgarth, Vala (monitors Ember and Blade's families)

    Thoughts...

You know, now that I think about it i think we have to go after our own 'families', but should have a backup because of our hesitation over attacking them. To find our families we will have to stake out our (their) friends and get them when they attack. So only you would be familiar with those people.

It's not a 'monitored' mission. If you remember the prequel intro to the campaign, everyone's family has already been killed when Giles rescued you each from Vampire attacks. (The encounter with Ashe's heirloom sword was a dream sequence replay of a similar Vampire attack each of you survived... only you guys didn't have magic powers, nor all together, nor defeated the Vamps...) The mission is to dust them if they've become Vamps before they kill your neighbors growing up.

Oh, and it's up to you guys what hometown you want to be from. If there's overlap, that's fine with me (in which case, watching 2 families simultaneously is fine). I wrote in the prequel set up that Giles picked each of you up on a cross country road trip, but maybe that was only a couple stops...

Right. Ask Giles if he thinks our families would stick around their own house, or follow and join the vampires that turned them?

Hmm, isn't that the same thing as monitoring the living neighbors and making sure they are not attacked?

Since the vampires can't break in and attack them at home (have to be invited in), we'll only have to keep an eye on the living friends/family that go out at night or who might invite an old (now vampire) friend in.

Ross wrote:Right. Ask Giles if he thinks our families would stick around their own house, or follow and join the vampires that turned them?

The ones closest to them in life are always their favorite and usually first targets to feed on. Wait a minute... that would be you guys! Twisted Evil Giles tells you that typically a Vampire only sires another after they're at least a century old, and usually only one or two per century. Your families were killed by 'new school' Vampire covens siring new Vamps ignoring tradition. Likely the whole group that killed them will stick around for some time coaching them in the Vampire ways and helping them devise evil ways to hunt & feed, and who would be the tastiest prey. Being immortal, Vamps are often patient hunters taking their time stalking prey, but other Vamps unabashedly embrace the bloodlust and feed with a primal evil pleasure.

So it's consistent, each of you had a mother, father, sibling, and uncle and aunt (all of your family) over when the Vampire attack happened.

Correct. A Vampire cannot enter the home of the living without first being invited in. You forgot about those who occasionally come home from work after dark...

No. ALL Vamp killing weapons that bring a Vamp to zero dusts that Vamp and everything he's wearing and on him. This is one of the Buffyverse racial features of Vampires that helped them convince current generations of living that magic doesn't really exist. Any magic they have on them dusts with them.

Note: I was just watching 'Angel' and Angel grabbed the shades off the face of an about to be dust Vamp. So, I'll allow a Slayer a save v ref as an immediate reaction to grab 1 item, which is as many magic items as most non-bosses will typically have...

    ???

    Another "special" rule?

A PC normally can't use an Immediate Reaction on their turn (ie when they're slaying a vampire). Also, what if they're dazed or otherwise unable to use an Immediate Action?

What is a "save vs Ref"? Is it an attack vs the targets Reflex defense? Or a save with some type of bonus based on your Dex?
