    Okay, the baddie next to you that was going to shift away from you then flee explodes in to dust. The other one adjacent to you (SE) is Selena, the one who's been helping you.

    It looks like the others are and have been trying to shift & flee since they took the fatal blows...

    Ember, Angel, Telgarth, Ashe, then baddie... much shorter to the top of the order now!

    Almost nobody moved since the last map, actually until after this post when Blade moved...

    Blade moves to the closest 'dead' Vamp.

    Ember summons a Magic Missile that hits the last Vamp for 8 hits.

    Telgarth activates Longtooth Shifting and gains 2 hps. He then attacks with BoP and 19+9=28 hit for 13+2=15 hps. He then shifts N.

    No, 'close' attacks do not provoke. It's a minor action to pick up an object if you're adjacent.

    Ashe's death save= '3'. He's missed 1 death save today.

    The boss Vamp shifts N and 14+13=27 hit Telgarth for 13 hps and flurries on Angel for another 8.

    Angel is newly bloodied, the Vamp is about 1/4 hits, and Telgarth is very bloodied.

    The Slayers also see a very beat up (& very cute) Halfling female come from the room with a purse over her shoulder, she just finished drinking from a small vial that she drops on the floor, and right afterwards, you see some of her wounds heal...

    Top of the order, Blade, Ember, Angel, Telgarth '7', then Ashe, then possibly baddies...

    Blade attacks with LS and 8+9+2=19 miss. See post #77, you used Gloom Thief already, though you do have your AP.

    Wow, Angel's quite the fielf medic... Angel pulls out a wooden stake then 20+5=25 heal check, Ashe is stablized & no longer needing death saves.

    Angel then shifts 2 squares away, cutting off a 'dead' Vamp.

    Telgarth regains 2 hps, picks up Ashe's heirloom sword and 13+9+2=24 hit for 15 hps, but you think you did more (& needed to) as the last Vamp crumbles into dust.

    I assume Angel & Ember finish off the last 2 'dead' Vamps?

    What do you do/say with the traitor Vamp & Halfling coming out? Inside the other room, you see lots of people, mostly women, all bound, bleeding very badly from their necks, and all in their undies... what do you do with them? Who explores the other room?

    The Halfling female is dressed as a cocktail waitress & smoking hot for a Halfling, and covered with bruises from head to toe, especially bad cuff mark bruises around her wrists. You all saw some of her bruises measurably heal after drinking from a small vial, a feat you've never seen before except for when you & the other Slayers 2nd winded for the first times.

    "Thank you for helping us. There are many more in there that need assistance. How did you few defeat so many? Are you Toknosfar? I have vials that can heal your wounds. Don't waste them, you can only benefit from one per day."

    She then hands Angel 4 6-pack vial pouches, 3 all vials with "+" on it, the 4th with 2 missing, 2 with "+"'s, and 2 with a symbol of an eye with a vertical line through it that Ember recognizes as 'invisibility'. The ones with the plus Ember recognizes as 'healing'.

    Traitor Vampiress Selena: fatal neck wound that will heal over the next day/extended rest, Halfling Toknosfar introduces herself as Vala is very bloodied but looks willing to fight and eager to kill (more?) Vamps. They are both dressed as cocktail waitresses and very hot, though neither quite as Cha as Ember... neither appear armed nor wearing enough to be hiding a weapon.

    Angel will use 3 surges to get back to max.

    He'll then go and check out the room to make sure its secure (also checking for any loot).

    When did Telgarth use a surge? I will use one surge to get to 31 hits. I ask Blade out of range of hearing of the halfling Toknosfar what he thinks will happen with the prisoners who are bit. Then ask the halfling the same question.

    Then I will see if someone wants to investigate the other room with me.

    Ashe will use 4 surges to get to full once he is awake.

    Ashe will get his sunblade back from Telgarth. "Glad it helped when I went down!"

    Ashe will then use whatever he can to disable all cameras he can see and ask Selena and Vala if there are more that are hidden. He will then ask about alarm systems and how to disable them and if they have the code.

    Talking while working
    To Selena: "Thank you for your help in battling these vampires. Please don't take offense but why would a vampiress want to battle her own kind?"

    To Vala: "Toknosfar you say? Apparently my ancestors were. This sword is all I have left from them but I intend to learn as much as I can. Hopefully you can tell me more about the Toknosfar.

    To both: "What do you know of the layout above? What about numbers? There were a lot more cars in the garage than what we killed here. Do you know where the water main for the entire building would be?"

    Once the cameras and any alarms are disabled Ashe will head to the cage where he cashed in his chips from before getting any keys needed from the bodies of the dealers. Check for petty cash etc that can be grabbed.

    I think the cage with the money is upstairs. We entered from the service entrance to the kitchen level. The gambling area where we were is upstairs. We know there's one more level above the gambling area and suspect that is the office area where the owner may be.

    Ahhh, I thought we had entered at the casino level since there were dealers and waitresses. Then just a large survey of the room looking for anything of value such as weapons, safes, etc.

Recently uncovered tombs tell us they were the last of the living to fight the Undead and we've been discovering a number of their burried magic relics with stories of battling the Undead. These relics prove magic does exist. Eventually we'll find proof that the living itself can weild magic."

    The only cameras on this floor are facing the service door and the landing of the stairs to the main casino floor. Ashe 6+5=11 theivery is pretty sure he disabled them, but very crudely and they are never turning on again very easily.

    What did Vala and Blade saw would happen to the bitten females? Are they going to turn into vamps?

    As Blade is entering the other room, I will investigate the room? Did I find anything?

    No, the females (& few males) are not dead so will be okay. They are all bloodied and very weak, plus delirious from Orpheus, but may turn out okay. You find out they were employees who showed up for work over the last day or so when they were brought down here and attacked and stripped of their uniforms. Most are still bound but some are free and are being cut free with the knife Vala tossed them after she dusted the Vampiress that was watching them.

    Among room with the prisoners, you find these things that belonged to fallen Toknosfar...

    Is the potion of Invisibility an (Lesser) Elixir of Invisibility?

    I didn't see anything else close.

    Are the healing postions normal healing potions? You mentioned we could only use them once per day. Do they require a daily item usage and/or a healing surge?

    Can anyone ID the third type of potion?

    Yes, 2 of these. There was no 3rd kind but there was 2 missing. Of the 4 6-packs, 3 were full of healing, the 4th had 2 healing, 2 of this invisibility, and 2 missing. There was no 3rd type.

    Note: Correct, she said that you can only use 1/day, because she's an NPC and that's how many surges they get. She's not encountered a PC, or Zodiac Slayer, yet so doesn't know how incredibly fast you Slayers can heal. In other words, she wasn't lying to you, but she is wrong... they work as per normal in the book. Smile

    That would need to be quite a distraction as most of them had their clothes just turned into dust by you all, and you have a bunch of hotties and a few dudes in their skivvies, and very stoned and happy...

    There are 16 hostages all together, and when you open the service door, you find Giles watching just outside the parking lot and he takes them all to the motel where you all put up the wannabes and tells you all he'll be there nursing all these people all back to health until you all finish up your mission.

    What does everyone do next?

    I bet that powder is Orpheous. Should we burn it or give it to Giles so that we can get it off the streets?

    Well that certainly backs up Selenas story. Are there any tell tale vampire dustings in the catwalks? I am sure that the vampire dust has to be different than charcoal that a humanoid would produce.

    As my friend pointed out we were born for this. Understandably we don't really want to tip our hand just yet but we will definitely fighting against the vampires soon (Ashe will look upwards) and in the future as well. If you are truly an enemy of the vampires then an enemy of my enemy is my friend. (Ashe will extend his hand for a handshake). My ancestors were Toknosfar and that is evidenced by the heirlooms I have acquired from my family. The vampires have made a deadly mistake by killing my parents and for that I will use this to kill as many of them as I can. As far as secrets of magic I used to not believe but tonight has shown me the errors of my ways. Magic is out there we just need to find it and use it.
