What else would typically be in a casino that you are thinking of? Gaming chips to throw? There are plenty of those, depending on your wallet, though many people seem to be winning.

How many people seem to be winning? Odds say that at least 1 of us should be losing and we all won. How does everyone else look? Any big losers? If so what sets them apart from the rest of everyone else? IE do the losers look like plants?

About 4/5 of the building seem to be winning, little by little. The other 1/5 seem to all be roughly breaking even, and, coincidentally at a visual glance seem to be the most slovenly and out of shape in the crowd, and also the only ones that haven't yet won any "Golden Keys". (That is, except Blade, who also hasn't won any Golden Keys.)

Ross wrote:Grab my weapons, and go to sleep, or meditation as Drow do.

Morning comes. Giles wakes you (and Stu's PC?) up. He says to you, "Well Blade, it seems your fellow Slayers took to heart a night off, but it's morning now. Your Slayer training must begin and I need to go over what I know about tomorrow's ritual. I need you to retrieve the others."

Blade very stealthily (17+11=28 stealth), if not cautiously (6+10=16 perception) makes it back to the casino, and you find the others, exactly where they were when you left. You find the others are all in a very good mood, a little uncoordinated, and very absent minded, as is all of the patrons here, and many but not all of the staff as well. (Not the Goliath bouncers, who seem not to take notice of the added excitement.)

Blade: What do you do next?

Note: The bouncers stop you if you obviously have weapons, so this is what you see from the entryway (in between the 2 doorways of the main entrance) unless you hid your weapons outside somewhere before you go in.

Alright, the map is small because the area is big. In the SE corner room, where Telgarth is, that's the low stakes room. Much more run down crowd, smaller percentage of winners here, though Telgarth is doing well. He's here because while cameras are on the table itself, this room has the most camera blindspots.

Ashe is in the SW corner room, as this is the smoking room. Ember is in the NW larger area for the high rollers and this area is about 3 feet elevated from the rest of the floor. Angel is in the NE corner where the bar is and tables for eating. The small area to the E above the stairs is the serving girl area where they punch in orders for the restaurant downstairs and take breaks.

The Southernmost edge of the map is where the main entrance is. The Troll tokens are the Goliath bouncers on each side. Just to the N of the smoking area, where the other bouncers are, is the elevator entrance. The stairs by the serving girls goes up and down.

Oh, and Ashe isn't gambling in the smoking room anymore but is in the bar that Angel is in, since he cashed out and started eating...

Also, all the interior walls are thick glass or has large windows, meant to block smoke and sound, but not sight, except the walls of the stairs

    Yes, Blade's turn currently.

Not exactly. You are feeling especially good, and have an especially short attention span and are having trouble focusing. You can do what you want, but all the tables feel the 'luck might change' if anyone leaves and there's peer pressure for everyone to stay "until the luck turns bad", which it hasn't. Pretty much everyone has been steadily winning since you've been there at least. I.e., saving throw to take any action requiring leaving the table and/or the game. If you leave the table, you might lose your focus, in which case one of the lovely serving girls will help you to your familiar seat and offer you a tasty food or drink "on the house".

A few of you may have wanted to get some beauty sleep, but time slipped away from you... By the way, I smiled a bit when after posting how everyone that ate or drank anything is feeling particularly good, (and I figured about right that half the party would), part of the other half immediately ordered a big meal. Smile Anyway, actions are now Blade's turn and he doesn't feel quite so impaired...

(As if not too surprised), Giles says, "Really? Everyone's dead?"... "Wait, 'rescue'? How many captured, how many dead? What happened?". "We can't hope to stop tomorrow's ritual with just ourselves... do you think you can get them out?"

    Initiatives:

    Ashe (next): 20
    Telgarth: 14
    Blade: 13.06
    Angel: 13.05
    Ember: 10
    Stu's PC: sleeping in car...

All the PCs (except Stu's PC & Blade), you are just noticing that time has obviously gotten away from you and something isn't normal in your head. Fleeting in and out are thoughts that maybe the food (& drinks) is spiked with drugs, but your concentration is very poor and you often forget these thoughts after you have them. You are also having the time of your life and have never felt better.

    Ashe's turn...

Hmm, can't trust any food/drink here that is served but I think you said there was a gift shop or something similar. If there is can I make a saving throw to leave the table and attempt to go buy some more drugs? Ones that might help me clear my head? If anyone attempts to stop me I will let them know truthfully that I am just trying to go buy something. I will also drink plenty of water to help flush out the system. Just make sure it is bottled water not brought by the waitresses.

If I can I will find stuff like No Doze, caffeine, 5 hour energy, etc. If I can't find that then some chocolate covered espresso beans or other natural sources of caffeine.

    Good news & bad news...

You rolled a 2 for your save, so when your new friends asked "Hey, where're you going?", you forgot and stayed put. Good news is, I forgot that there should be a gift shop, so I'm putting it really close to you in the serving girl's area by the stairs, 9 squares away from you, so you can make it there in 1 round next round maybe. Your token is actually in the NE corner with Angel since you left the SW corner room to get some food. I'm going to say they have all of the above previously named items you mentioned available in limited supply.

    Telgarth's turn...

Giles: "Have faith, Blade. You have power you don't yet know yet. The might of you and those others are written in the stars and will tip the balance in the war between the Living and the Undead. If they have fell prey to the Vampire's 'gaze', you need to simply get them away, out of range of the possessing Vampire, and it'll wear off." As he's ushering you back out of the car, "If it's full of Vamps, you better be discreet. Don't get yourself killed and bring back all the others that aren't dead".

We'll say you are now just outside the main entrance of the casino, and your grumbling to yourself must be affecting you... Perception 2+10=12, Stealth 5+11=16. You have your weapons on you and you know the bouncers will stop you if you go in with them (unless they're small & concealable). Your action after Telgarth goes.

Got it. You're next after Blade and you rolled a 6 for your save. I just measured it (easy with Maptools!) and you're 15 squares from the front door. So, if you can keep your focus long enough for a move and a move (i.e. make your save), you'll still be 3 squares away from the main entrance. This round you meant to get up for some fresh air, but then the waitress smiled at you & refilled your cup and you got distracted and forgot what you were doing...

After Blade (who's outside the casino) goes, Ember is next...

    FYI,
Maptools does have some old 3.5 behaviors.

It counts diagonal movement as 1:1.5 instead 1:1 in 4.0. So every other square counts 2.

Also when calculating vision it starts from the center of a token instead of an edge. This can create situations where a PC should be able to see something, but MapTools won't let them.

The main entrance has 2 sets of double doors. Since it's daytime now, the outer doors are now open, leading into the entryway (where you went to last time), then a second set of blackened glass doors which automatically open and close as people near it, with the security guards just inside of those inner doors. Last time you waited for others to enter and peered in as the doors opened for them.

All the interior walls, except the stairs, are either glass or large windowed.

I'll enter the Casino without my weapons again then.
Goto the nearest Gambling table that has one of my friends at it and bet $200. After the hand is over, win or lose, I will cash out and tell my friend, let's go to another table and check out the action their, motioning to another table that has another friend at it.

Oh, and don't make direct eye contact with anyone but my friends. I have sunglasses on so they shouldn't notice if I'm avoiding their eyes.

Ashe almost noticed, but through your drug induced cloud only Angel noticed Blade walk in the casino. Since Telgarth in the low-limit area is a little closer than Ember in the high-stakes area (and both are closer than Angel & Ashe at the bar), Blades walks towards the low stakes area. <That's a move/move and all you can do of your intended actions so far.>

Blade hides his weapons safely outside and when he goes in finds Telgarth feeling extremely good, etc., and just made & won a big bet. Telgarth settled in this room because, after scouting cameras, noted while there were occasional blind spots out on the floor (& none in the high stakes area), the run down low-stakes room had very little camera surveilance. Actually, the cameras in that room are only covering the gaming table itself. Stakes in this room are typically 1gp to 5gp, and he just parleyed a 10gp bet to 20 gp and is letting it ride again... You haven't made it into the room yet and are just outside the door. (He was a little closer than Ember in the high stakes area)

    Ember's turn...

    Buffy Verse - Casino - Page 2 Blade_12

Just occurred to me that I should roll saves first. Ember rolled a natural '20'. You can take all your normal actions this round, though you are very forgetful still and everyone around you says "Come back!", "Stay", and the like if you get up to leave. (You just made that save with the '20') Ember's turn...

I not sure where the cashier cage is.

    From post 59
Ember would have cashed out & left about 3:00 PM if she was tired. Got to have her beauty sleep.

Head for nearest cashier and cash out.

The dealers tell you that you can wait right where you are, they'll call a pit boss who'll come over and count your chips and come back again with your money. You don't have to leave the table. They, and the guests, encourage you to stay, but also tell you the other place you can cash out is the serving girl area/gift shop/cage near the stairs. You get up and do a move/move toward the gift area to cash out and are roughly in the middle of the main floor. What do you say to everyone as you leave? What do you say to, and do you tip (how much*?), the dealer as you leave?

*You were winning in the high-stakes area where the smallest chip is black 100gp. You have far less than everyone else in the room since you only had 24gp and had to flirt your way until someone bankrolled you... you are doing very well now, but are well behind everyone else in the room (but they didn't start from nothing).

Btw, you got here as it was getting dark last night, and Blade was sent to get you now this morning. It has not been 3pm yet since we started the roleplaying in this campaign and Ember was gambling, flirting, eating, drinking, and having the time of her life, but we never crossed her deadline.

Ashe's turn, he rolls a '14', and finds the concentration to head into the gift shop. It took a move/move to get there, and you asked for ______?

Telgarth's turn, no need to save since his stated actions were to keep put. He wins again and now his 20gp bet is 40gp... he's feeling great and STILL letting it ride!...

Blade's turn, then Angel (who rolled an exact '10' on his save and finds the concentration to act normally this turn).

Blade takes the open seat next to Telgarth (took a move/move to get there) and tries to place a 200gp bet, but they tell you this is the low-stakes room (1gp to 5gp typical bet) and they suggest you try the main floor or even the high-rollers area. They were actually about to tell Telgarth the same thing as he's been parleying his bet and also betting above the max for this room.

Angel, you do a move/move and are luckily right next to Ember.

Ember's turn: you rolled a '7', and find yourself standing in the middle of the floor and forgot what you were doing. You are holding a tray 1/2 full of black chips and see Angel standing next to you, on hiTels way past you. You can only babble somewhat incoherently this turn as you try to find your train of thought, but you feel really good.

Ashe's turn: you rolled a '14', and you asked for an item last round, and you have all your actions this round. We'll say it's a full round action for them to get the item, get your money, and give you change.

Telgarth: you rolled a '15' for your save and can act normally. Blade just sat next to you and tried to make a bet. You just won a 40gp bet and wanted to let it ride again for 80gp, but they remind you the normal limit for this room is 1gp to 5gp and ask you to change your bet. Telgarths actions...

Get a bottle of no doze or something similar as long as it is sealed. Then attempt to leave the casino. Be polite to anyone that talks to me and tell them I am coming back but I have to leave for a few hours.

Okay. You've paid for (5gp) and have a bottle of (the Buffy-Verse world name equivalent of... someone feel free to think of a name) NoDoze and you've undone the seal and you (17+5=22 perception) don't think it's been tampered with. You have not yet taken any, but good job. I didn't think about this and I'll definitely reward that with a bonus if you do. Your bottle has 50 tablets and recomended normal dosage is 2 tablets every few hours.

As far as leaving the serving girl area to head for the front door, or be helped back to your normal seat, those are actions for next round and it depends on how your save goes. The serving girl helping you seems to be just as 'happy' as you are and is eager to walk you back & share a drink with you, and is very flirtateously showing you a good view in her skimpy outfit (and all the serving girls are particularly hot!). As she gives your your bottle & change she mentions how she would love to get to know you better... and you are feeling very, very good. Twisted Evil

Telgarth (Jamison) tips the dealer 10gp then does a move/move towards the cashier.

Blade does a move/move and is adjacent Telgarth (let me know if you want to adjust this action/turn)

Angel & Ember (rolled a '5' & '4' save) see everyone (since everyone is up from the tables) but completely lost your train of thought on what you were doing this round. Either of you can mumble something to each other, but the message has as much random nonsense as whatever you're trying to say.

    Buffy Verse - Casino - Page 2 Rescue11
Ashe: rolled an '18' save and can act normally this round, though your head is still fuzzy, you are still feeling great, and see previous post re: serving girl. Currently Ashe's turn... (After that is Telgarth, who made his save again, then Blade)

Btw, the only interior wall that isn't glass or large windows is the stairs, so from Ashe's POV, you can only see Angel & Ember, who both appear a little lost, but you can't see around the wall where Telgarth & Blade are.

Each caplet of Sleep-B-Gone contains 200 milligrams of caffeine or about the same as two cups of coffee so I will eat 2. Package says it is fast acting but who knows how fast that will be.

Does the serving girl give me the same vibe as some of the earlier ones have? Any discernible vampire like qualities? If not I will see if I can't get the serving girl to walk me to my car. If I can get outside and my head starts to feel better I will try and come back in for Ember and Angel.

Hmm... If you take a normal recomended, FDA approved dose, nothing happens. The drug you're tripping on is much stronger than that. Assuming you take a x5 dose (min/max effect for simplicity), you get a +2 bonus to your saves to keep your focus this encounter. (Love the D&D name!)

Umm... yes... as in the same super hot, super flirtateous vibe. Only Ember and Blade got any sort of Vampire vibe and they haven't been able to tell you as much yet... Also, you, Ember, and the serving girl trying to politely (& flirtateously) help you back to your seat, all seem to be in the same super happy, super forgetful state.

Wow... we hit for the cycle on missed saves. Everybody gets distracted with random thoughts (that are hilarious, but hard to remember) and Blade gets two rounds of actions. After that, it's Ember, who finally gets another turn.

    Buffy Verse - Casino - Page 2 Rescue12

You see Ashe, walking arm in arm and looking very cosy with a serving girl, back to the bar area. (Ashe: You find yourself walking but aren't really sure what happened from taking the Sleep-B-Gone and now, as you continually trip in and out.)

Got it. You are moving 1/2 speed leading an inebriated Telgarth, and a move/move puts you about half way to the door. Telgarth mumbles barely coherently that he needs to cash out his chips, and glancing at his rack, you think he has around 500gp worth of "Mr. Mui's Casino" chips.

As you approach the main entrance, you notice the bouncer near you (insight 10+5=15) give a look to the other bouncer near the doors and to a serving girl that comes up to the two of you. (Seemingly very out of it) "Hey you two, handsome and handsomer! Let me help you find a great table..." Grabbing each of you by the arms, as if to help you stand/walk straight (which she herself needs help doing), leading you to the table to your north, "Oh, we have the perfect thing for that... bread soup. It's the best... Our chef is the best... You're pretty!..."

After Ember goes, it's Angels turn: rolled '13' and can act normally this turn. (Ashe rolled a '1', and finds himself back in the bar, Telgarth rolled a '7' and doesn't know what's going on, but suddenly finds a beautiful hottie in between him & Blade) Up next (that can act) Ember, then Angel, then Blade...
