Blade does a run (7 squares) to the finger trap & his darkvision easily lets him see what he's doing in the dark stairwell, 22+4=26 theivery success. The trap is half disarmed, still needing a religion check (spoken 3 squares away or less) to fully disarm. Curiously, it didn't trigger when Blade went in, though it did for Aura...

    33+2, 25+2, hit for 18 damage (1/2 for unsubstantial).

At the start of Luke's turn, he takes (1/2 of) 20 fire from Ember & 10 radiant from Ashe. He then shifts down, provoking from Telgarth only, then seems to sink farther below. Telgarth's AoO, 22+2, 15+2, miss.

Ember, Ashe, Angelus, Aura, Blade, Telgarth, Luke...

How is he "sinking farther"? Sustain standard, Move shift. He has a minor left. If he stays gaseous, he'll get one move action per round.

If there's a chance we can catch him you may want to map out where his car is or other exit since we'll be moving twice as fast (or more) as him.

Not if he's a floating cloud. Gravity would have very little affect on him.

True, but the description doesn't say 'insubstantial' grants a fly speed or is weightless (like Zepher horseshoes), so it seems like what would happen... Let me know if you find rules that say different.

Is it Gaseous Form or just insubstantial?

    Gaseous Form
The monster’s body is similar to a cloud of gas, or the monster can take this form. (All of the monster’s gear is absorbed into its gaseous form.) While gaseous, the monster is insubstantial and gains a fly speed equal to its land speed, as well as the ability to hover.

A monster cannot make attacks while in gaseous form unless otherwise noted, but it can move unhindered through porous obstacles that would otherwise prevent movement (such as under a door or through a cracked window).

Hmm, I was waiting for Ashe's action to be resolved and a description of what Angelus sees outside.

Still unsure if I should be looking for an underground/sewer entrance or if I should just head to the garage.

I'll head to the garage, but if I spot a manhole cover or what looks like a sewer entrace I'll head to it (if it's in the same general direction as the driveway) unless someone from the inside directs otherwise.

Sorry about that, I thought I already described the outside before the battle started (& posted maps)... It's the same as before: basement garage ramp just E of N door, stolen beater car parked in front of the ramp.

Ashe hands Telgarth his heirloom sword and 2x moves out the window towards the front door. athletics 28, is not hindered by jumpimg through window.

Angelus running moves at break-neck speeds and moves to the closest manhole, getting there with a 2x move, so I'm assuming lift cover with a minor. (You don't YET hear footsteps or anything below...)

Aura's turn... At the start of Aura's turn, 18 shadowy claws miss cutting you again, but is still imobilized from earlier.

Without Blade's darkvision Aura didn't notice at first that on the severed finger nailed to the wall in blood & carved flesh, her elven lowlight vision reveals a symbol. Her 13+8=21 religion check suceeds & she recognizes the symbol, and speaks it out loud, and the grasping & clawing shadows release her.

That was her minor action... After a 2x move down the near pitch black stairwell, (She notices the only light in the whole building was the window Angelus jumped in through) she can barely make out from the sliver of light peering in from beneath the garage door & the ramp, a bad smelling mist to her W & an iron barred grate to the sewers below(marked in light grey) to her NW.

Blade's turn, then Telgarth, then Luke...

Note: on map, Luke & Aura are not in the same room but the garage level below. I tried to 'halo' them in black but it didn't come out very clear.

No giant car. When Blade joins you, he'll be able to read in the dark the license plates of 2 matching Fararris say 'Lisa' & 'Wendy'. (& he clearly won't fit in those little sports cars.) Besides that, it is an unfinished basement, and lining the walls are shelves, and scattered among the floor and/or drilled to floor or ceiling is various blood stained bondage & S&M stuff.

Yes, the mist looks like Luke. It takes you more than 1 full move to get to the grate from where you were (the trap never seemed to go for you) and it is locked with a heavy duty but simple pad lock. (Curiously, the grate Angelus opened outside has an unlocked heavy duty but simple pad lock on it.)

You need a thievery check & tools to pick, or a crowbar & strength check to open. The garage level is roughly 10' underground and the grate covers a vertical tunnel that goes down 30' into a horizontal tunnel heading N/S. Angelus' grate is over a vertical tunnel going down 20' into a horizontal tunnel going E/W. There are metal bars embedded into the sides of the tunnels as ladders in both.

Both look very dark. Does Angelus have darkvision too?

Not as good as Blade... If you go down into the sewers, your low-light vision will let you see quite a ways along the straightaway, but much past any intersection you'd need a light. A normal Human would be in the dark a little past the vertical.

    Standard Action Melee weapon

    Target: One creature

    Attack: Wisdom vs. AC

Hit: 2[W] + Wisdom modifier damage.

    Miss: Half damage.

Effect: Until the end of the encounter, if the target is more than 3 squares away from you at the start of your turn, you can teleport to a space within 3 squares of it as a minor action. This effect ends if you end your turn more than 3 squares away from the target.

We already did those 2 rounds a round ago, when Luke was dazed so couldn't move, & when he moved through the floor. This is the end of the round after that.

Cool power btw! You don't need LOS, once Telgarth locks in on a target, he stays locked in!

I'll be with appraisers all day & on wrong computer to roll actions, but whether Telgarth hits or not won't change Luke's actions, everyone else can post their next rounds' actions too.

Telgarth teleports to the floor below and swings (I'm assuming) Ashe's heirloom sword at the mist...

The mist does a move action to just below the iron bars of the grate. As a free (or minor, not looking at book), change form back to Human-ish, falling 25' and sustaining minor damage after athletics check, falls to the sewer tunnels below. Blade then, looking down with his darkvision, sees Luke 2nd wind, something you've only seen Slayers do, and is either barely bloodied or barely not depending on how hard Telgarth hit him. (I'll be back at my home computer tonight, probably.) Luke is looking back up at Blade too, but is quiet.

[Note: Yes, Luke is an 11th level solo! Twisted Evil 2 APs & 2 surges...]

Ember, Ashe, Angelus, Aura, Blade, Telgarth, Luke... I think everyone can safely post their next rounds actions without needing to be 1 at a time.

I should have another attack when Luke moved.

    Avenger Attack 5Bond of Foresight
A bond of fate links you to your enemy, giving you the ability to foresee its every move. Whenever it moves or attacks you, you’re ready.

    Daily Divine, Weapon
    Standard Action Melee weapon

    Target: One creature

    Attack: Wisdom vs. AC

Hit: 2[W] + Wisdom modifier damage.

    Miss: Half damage.

Effect: When the target hits or misses you or shifts, the target provokes an opportunity attack from you (save ends).

He didn't hit, miss, or shift. He actually 'ran' since mist doesn't provoke AoO from movement (normally) & he needed to go 1 more than his full movemnent. Don't know if you still get this attack or not...

Telgarth's swing on the mist 34 critical'd for 17+6=23/2 =11 hits. (Then Luke moved & dropped down into the tunnels).

Free action: "We were probably doing a favor to your whores by putting them down. Now they don't have to put up with your grotesque mass of flesh. You must have had to pay them a fortune to stick around with you, or did you have them under a spell or something?"

Luke: "The Master provides for his loyal servants. After St. Vigeous you might even meet him yourself, though I'll probably kill you first. You can replace the whore you killed as my plaything..."

    Ember then runs towards Angelus...

Is that a 'special'? As gaseous form doesn't have that as a side effect.

free - make the sunblade radiate bright sunlight full strength
all further damage done by me to Luke with the Sunblade will be radiant.

It's a loose interpretation of "move unhindered" and how I picture magic smoke moving.

The garage is now well lit. Two red Fararris are parked against the E wall. Bloody S&M stuff is everywhere. Because Luke is around a corner (down the sewer drain) from the heirloom sword, he isn't taking Sun damage yet.

    Angelus' turn:
    Minor: pull out sunrod
    Move: light sunrod

Standard: start climbing down if there is a ladder (or other way to get down easily). If no way down and it's less than 20', jump and use acrobatics to reduce damage.

There are iron bars embedded into the circular cement walls as laddars up/down. When you climb down with sunrod in hand, you decend into a round tunnel traveling E/W around 7'-8' diameter, circular. Down the middle is a smelly river of disgustingness, to either side is a metal, mesh walkway built to be just above the river. The tunneling goes as far as your lowlight vision can see both directions, with irregular openings for intersection N/S tunnels. There are no sconches anywhere for lights, and except for your sunrod, very dark down here.

With only 1 baddie left, I didn't think initiative order mattered so much anymore as long as everybody went once each time Luke went. I thought that'd speed things up and I'd be able to resolve several actions each post, possibly even a whole round, but it's not working out that way...

Waiting on Ashe, Aura, Blade, & Telgarth's actions...

Sorry guys, thought I was pretty much out of it since I probably can't keep up with Luke.

Ashe will stick with Ember and see if he can get a health potion from someone.

Ashe can take the one in Ember's hand.

Can I reach Luke with a melee attack? Is he near the gate, or to far down the sewer?

Luke fell down the 30' to the tunnels below. There is a locked iron grate + that distance between you, so no melee attack. You can either pick the lock & open the grate, or teleport et. al.

Move - Move to either side of the grate
Minor - Summon spirit companion south of Luke. (Previous spirit companion vanished when I went downstairs and lost LoS with it)
Standard - Shoot longbow through the grate at him.
