    Sonya's turn:
    Sonya moves to Miri and attempts to stabilize her and rolls a 2+8=10 (failed)


    Candelos' turn:
    Candelos takes 5hp of acid damage.

    Candelos moves to Thia, picks her up, then runs into the hallway with the other PCs.


    Thia's turn:
    At the end of Thia's turn she rolls a 10 for her Death save. Thia also rolls a 3 for her save vs Dazed.

    Kaddim's turn:
    Kaddim moves to Thia and attempts to use a heal check to allow her to use Second Wind. Kaddim rolls a 12 and Thia uses Second Wind.

    Miri's turn:
    At the end of Miri's turn she rolls an 18 for her Death save and a 6 and a 7 for her saves vs Dazed.



    Sonya delays so that she can assist Candelos since he is more skilled at healing. Sonya attempts to assist and rolls 4+8=12 (success)

    Candelos attempts to stabilize Miri and rolls 19+11+2=32 success. Miri is now stable, but she has no surges remaining. It'll be a while before she regains consciousness.


    As a note:
    It took Thia 3 tries to get undazed.
    It took Miri 8 rolls to get undazed. (she really got her bell rung... Razz)

    According to the rules (p295 of PHB), Miri will be unconscious until after an extended rest.


    What does the party want to do while Miri takes a nap?


    The small robed figure has no magical items.
    The medium sized robed figure has two daggers that Kaddim identifies as +1 Daggers.

    Just search the immediate area. Do not go to unknown hallways. Also search for secret doors.

    Oh, when Miri does finally regain her senses, we can rest an extra few minutes so that Miri gets the most of her surges as she gets back to full. (e.g. Sonya will heal Miri up using IW w max bonuses and then rest to get back her IW's for the next battle).

    short rests don't bring back surges. Need 8 hours extended rest.

    ...what I was trying to say is, after a short rest, I think you should be awake with 1 hit. After an extended rest, we all get our surges back. The rest of use can use our remaining surges to heal up some before we finish the extended rest.
    After the extended rest, you'll be at 1 hit but with full surges. To get Miri back to full hits (or close) Sonya will use IW so when the party is ready to go on, Miri at worst will be down only two or three surges. Sonya would need a short rest to get back her IW powers.

    After the first five minutes of resting the PCs notice that the acid cloud has dissipated. Also the "flesh" walls blocking the doorways is no longer present, though the one blocking the secret passage has reformed.

    Pretty busy at work... I'll try to post more this evening. Smile

    The party is able to take an uninterrupted extended rest.

    Everyone is back to full but Miri is unable to make any items during this rest period since she was unconscious throughout the whole rest.

    What does the party want to do now? You've investigated the immediate area and didn't find anything.

    Options:
    1. Investigate the "fleshy" room further
    2. Go back and see Breeze
    3. Other...

    The party goes back into the "fleshy" room.

    You notice that all of the creatures from the last battle that were left in this room (Destrachan, Grick, and two robed figures) are no where to be found.

    The wall to the south (across from Candelos and Thia in the map) has what looks like a large gash in it and it is leaking a purplish fluid. This is where the acid cloud emerged from.

    check for hidden passages in the fleshy room and if we don't find any, I guess we head east?
    I guess we could always start hacking at the purple gash...touch the liquid and see if it causes damage.

    The only secret passage found is the one the party already found.


    The liquid does not cause damage when touched. The liquid looks like blood, when the party hacked through the fleshy wall secret passage you saw the same type of liquid.

    Sonya takes a swing at the wall...

    MBA 25 vs Ac hits for 9hp of damage.

    The party feels the floors and wall vibrate as more of the purplish liquid oozes out of the gash.

    The party then sees the exits close as a wall of flesh appears and you can see an acid cloud start to form.

    It sounds like the PCs want to go back through the secret passage and out to the corridor where you rested.

    The PCs were unable to get through the wall with the "seam" in a single round so each PC takes 5hp of acid damage. On the second round the PCs were able to knock down the wall and exit the room.

    What do the PC want to do now?

    After about 5 minutes the acid cloud dissapates and the "fleshy" walls no longer block the doorways.

    The double doors in the NW are where the party entered the level from. Those lead to the stairs where you fought the gargoyles.

    The party can:

    1. Investigate the source of the acid cloud
    2. Return to Breeze
    3. Move on to level 3

    Can endure elements be cast on all of us? How much damage does endure elements prevent?

    If it does more than 5 and it can be used on all of us I say we spend the gold to get the enchantment and then investigate. I am not sure I want to move on to level 3 and I am not sure that we have done what Breeze asked us to do.

    We.ve been barely beating the encounters on this level. May see a TPK on 3rd level.
    I say we pay the cost to do endure elements and search the fleshy area.

    Then again, that could just weaken us for the next encounter (which are all tough)...

    I'm game for anything though. Personally, while we're fresh, I say we scout the 3rd floor, then when we can rest & craft items (to withstand cold & walk on ice), we take on Breeze and that witch that Miri hates...

    Whoops! I just looked up 'Endure Elements' and that only let's us withstand temps from -50* to +140*. Nothing against acid. We need 'Resist Elements' and I don't have that...

    Kaddim, Miri, Sonya, Thia, then Candelos

    Kaddim uses a MBA on the wall 22 vs Ac hits for 18hp of damage. The doors are blocked and an acid cloud starts to form...

    Miri casts Magic Missile at the wall 24 vs Ref hits for 13hp of damage.
    Sonya uses a MBA on the wall 24 vs Ac hits for 17hp of damage.
    Thia uses Twin Strike on the wall and hits twice (31 and 25 vs Ac) for 17hp and 15hp of damge.

    A "path" through the wall has been created. You can tell it leads to a room, but can't see into it. Think of it as a very heavy curtain that you have to push your way through.

    It'll take Kaddim 7 squares of movement to get south of Candelos.

    The pinkish area is difficult terrain so it'll take 2 squares to move into Sonya's space.
    The barrier takes 3 squares.
    Then another 2 squares to get south of Candelos.

    You'll have to do a move/move or use an Action Point.
