After defeating the Heart of Madnes the parties current status is:

Miri 45/58hp with 9/9 surges
Kaddim 46/79hp with 11/11 surges
Candelos 55/78hp with 14/14 surges
Thia 60/65hp with 6/7 surges
Sonya 30/66hp with 9/9 surges

How many surges (if any) would each PC like to use during your short rest?

Sonya will use two and on one of them, use IW (if I have one left). If I have both left, I'll use the other on Kaddim. Try to rest an extra 10 minutes to get my IW powers back.

I believe you've only used IW once since the only one down a surge is Thia.

So if you're going to rest for 10min then you can use three IWs.

One on yourself, you gain 16+3hp back. Now at 49/66hp with 8/9 surges.
One on Kaddim, he gains 19+9hp back. Now at 74/79hp with 10/11 surges.

After the party takes 10 minutes to rest I assume the party will be leaving the cultist area?

When the party reaches the room where Kaddim and Candelos were locked in you notice that the "orc" gargoyles are no longer guarding the entrance.

Does the party continue on to the Eladrin area?

As you round the corner toward the eladrin area you see the stairs up to level 3 on the south wall.

You also see two statues (they look like eladrins) flanking the doorway into the Eladrin area.


What does the party wish to do?

...proceed forward slowly toward the Eladrin area, seeing if the statues are really gargoyles. Ask Thia to use perception to check for traps.

There is no immediate response.

Does the party want to wait a bit? Open the door? Knock? Or take some other action?

Hmm, 50' away through a closed door... Gargoyles are deaf but can sense vibrations in the ground.


Anyways...

When the party opens the door, they are greeted by the Eladrins (you see about 6 of the Winter Blades and 2 of the Winter Knights). When the party tells them of their victory over the cultist the Eladrin immediately send two Blades to go check out the cultist area and another to Breeze.

The Winter Blade that went to see Breeze comes back after about a minute and tells the party that Breeze is very pleased. The soldier motions for the party to follow as he heads back towards Breeze's area.

Does the party follow?

Might as well, not much else to do. Be prepared for an ambush but Thia is OK with going.

yeah, be prepared for a fight. We could just assume they are untrustworty and subdue/ neutralize the Eladrin now and then attempt to take out Breeze...
I'm okay with just going to see the Dragon anyways...maybe he'll say something useful before he attacks us.

The Winter Blade leads the party to Breeze and she greets the part and asks that the pary tells her of your encounters with the cultists.

The party tells of their encounters, Thia believes that Breeze is somewhat interested but mainly waiting for confirmation from her scouts.

When the Winter Blades return and tell Breeze that the cultists are no more she seems impressed that the party accomplished the task.

Breeze:
As promised, here is your reward and she motions for one of the Knights to carry a small bag to the party.

Inside the bag is:
3 gems
1 scroll
1 orb

Breeze thanks the party, then motions for the Knights to escort the party out.

Before the party is escorted out, is there anything anyone wants to say?

Although Sonya has no trained evaluation skills, do the items appear "valuable"? Sonya will respectfully ask "Mighty Breeze, now that the Cultists have been defeated, what are your plans regarding the void they leave behind?" and "Are you able to tell us anything about the level above?"

The party takes turns looking at the items in the bag before responding to Breeze.

Miri takes a look at the scoll... It seems to be a single use item that gives the benefits of Mark of Warding (ie +2 to the level of items you can create for one rest period).

Candelos notices that one of the gems is part of Vyrellis' life force.

Sonya looks at the other two gems and believes they are Astral Diamonds (each worth 10kgp)

Kaddim believes the orb is the one he saw the last time he was in the lair. It's an orange orb with four red stars. He has no idea what the orb does at the moment.
