    Minor make an Arcana check on the platform.
    Arcana 14+4=18

    Sonya sees that Karavakos is constructing a magical portal directly north of the stairs. The portal looks almost complete and looks to be constructed of humanoid and monster bones.

    The platform and pillars seems to attack any living creature other than Karavakos.

    Once grabbed you need to make a DC24 athletics or acrobatics skill check to break free. You're not sure what will happen to a PC that is grabbed and unconscious, but you have a feeling they'll continue to maintain their grab draining the lifeforce from their victim...

    Remember if you use an AP, Candelos gets 9 hit points healed.

    Standard: use the orb daily power
    Orb 29 vs Will hits for 13hp of psychic damage. Karavakos is Dazed (save ends).

    Miri can't see Karavakos from her current position. The platform is 10' tall and he's not near the SW area. You'd have to move east to take a shot.

    No, Sonya can't see Karavakos from her current position, the stairs up the ramp are in the way. You'd need to be NE of Kaddim to see him.

    Yes, I believe Candelos dropped the shield SW of your current position.

    At the start of his turn he takes 5hp of thunder damage.

    Standard: use Second Wind
    Karavakos is no longer bloodied and his defenses seem to be a little stonger for the moment.

    At the end of his turn...
    The party sees the spell that he's been using to grab Kaddim fade away.
    It doesn't look like he is dazed any longer.
    It doesn't look like he's taking ongoing thunder damage any longer.

    No, after he used his Second Wind he gained 1/4 of his hits back (and he has quite a bit...). He's just above bloodied though.

    I'll post a new map after Sonya's turn. Difficult to post maps when at work since I have to go through a separate server since I can't access the forum at work directly.

    Kaddim AC - he should have a + 1 to AC still since Sonya did hit with BoD early in the encounter.

    Sonya -
    Move: If I can shift one to the SW and have LoS to Karavakos, then I'll shift one to the SW. If shifting one to the SW won't do it, I'll have to move; 2 SW and hope the column does grab me.

    Minor: I have a hvy shield equipped on my left arm. If I can drop my hand axe as a free action and pick up the Throwing Shield in the next square as a minor and if I can use the Throwing Shield with my right hand, I'll pick up the Throwing Shield. If I can't use the Throwing Shield in my right hand, then no minor action and I'll retain my Hand Axe.

    Standard: Throw either Magic Hand Axe or Candelos' Throwing Shield at Karavakos.

    Done...

    Minor: I have a hvy shield equipped on my left arm. If I can drop my hand axe as a free action and pick up the Throwing Shield in the next square as a minor and if I can use the Throwing Shield with my right hand, I'll pick up the Throwing Shield. If I can't use the Throwing Shield in my right hand, then no minor action and I'll retain my Hand Axe.

    I assume Candelos can see Karavakos since he is on the edge of the platform but can't reach him.
    move: use orb encounter power to teleport to the spot south of him.
    minor: divine strength to get +4 dam
    standard: attack with Martyr Retribution

    Sonya makes an Arcana check and gets 16+4=20. Sonya believes that the pillars and platform can make a single attack per PC turn. She also believes they will continue attacking while Karavakos lives.

    The only rules I could find to handle this is a "trained" Acrobatics check to avoid falling damage. Since Candelos isn't trained I believe he'll automatically take 1d10 falling damage and be prone after the fall.

    If anyone can find anything different, let me know.

    'reduce falling damage' is trained only, but if it's 10' or less, he can 'hop down' DC 15 to drop 10' or less as part of a move.

    Where are the rules for "hopping down", I don't see it in the PHB.

    Anyways...

    I rolled an Acrobatics check for Candelos and he got 16+4=20.

    Candelos takes 8hp of damage from jumping down 10' but doesn't fall prone. Then me moves 2S+2SE.
