    The PCs approach the doors to the north and listen.

    Candelos and Thia hear low chanting by a single voice for a few rounds, then they hear a male voice ordering someone to do things (lift that, bring something here, put something somewhere else).

    The door to the north is not locked.

    Opening the door, the PCs see the following:
    Ahead is a large room (30' ceiling) with a raised platform (10' off of the ground) to the north. The entire platform seems to be made of bones. There are also five pillars in the room which are also made of bones.

    The party sees several creatures in the room
    3 large sized skeletons
    2 tiny sized floating (10' up) flaming skulls
    1 tiefling in black robes adorned with skulls

    The party also sees what looks like a doorway of bones being constructed at the back of the platform where the tiefling is. Kaddim and Miri believe that it is a portal of some type.


    Seeing light come into the room the tiefling turns and says "Good I am in need of new bones. Get them!!!

    The Skeletons and flaming skulls turn toward the party...

    That is the third form of Karavakos! Destroy him and we shall claim our freedom!

    Don't really think I need to. I see 3 different kinds of creature, and one is flaming and the other 2 aren't, then you destroy the fire first.

    But that doesn't tell us what vulnerabilities/resistances/etc each of them have. A knowledge check can tell you that & more.

    Currently Thia's turn...

    Thia can seee one large skeleton clearly. The one to the left and right have cover.

    You have to be in the room or just outside (where Kaddim and Candelos are) to see the floating skulls.

    Standard: Nimble Strike the west flame skull and shift 1W to get the +1 AC and get a little farther from the rest of the group.

    When Thia moves adjacent to the pillar of bones an arm reaches out and tries to grab her.
    Grab 30 vs Ac hits for 13hp of necrotic damage. Thia is restrained.

    Thia has a Standard and a Minor action remaining.

    Thia can still shoot, but all attacks are at -2 while restrained.

    The skulls are 10' above the bone platform, which is 10' off of the ground.

    So the skulls are 20' up in relation to the ground.

    To get on to the platform you have to take the stairs (made of bones...) directly north, or teleport.

    The platform has a small waist high railing along its perimeter (also made of bones...).

    So even if I was on the platform I wouldn't be able to reach the skulls, right?
    Also, how high is the ceiling? Can the skulls fly higher than what they are at now?

    Correct, even if you're on the platform you can't melee the skulls.

    The ceiling is 40' high, so the skulls could fly up another 10'.

    Question, are the pillars in this room so large that they take up the whole square? Can a M sized person be in the same square as a pillar? On a related question, can you "cut the corner" on the pillars or do you have to move around them?

    The pillars take up the whole square.

    You might be able to "cut the corners" on the pillars....

    Unfortunate... I thought we were going after Breeze (& your items), so I swapped out all the cold based attacks that I could. Sad

    Hmm, everything pretty much turns out the same except Candelos gets hit by the second skeleton instead of Thia and the fireballs hit all 5 PCs instead of each only getting 4.


    Redoing the turn from where Kaddim moved...

    Standard: Use Lightning Lure on the Skeleton

    Hmmm...I wouldn't charge the red skeleton if he was within range of one move. I'd move up to him, and then use a power. Bastion of Defense seems like a good one, not many times all of my allies are going to be within range to get the extra to all defenses. At the time of my turn, I wasn't very wounded (yet) so I wouldn't have used a healing strike on my self.

    Also, at the time of my (new) turn, Kaddim was - 21 so I would have used my minor action to heal him (IW) and if a save can end the immobilize then I'd give him a save, else, get him back to max.

    Hmm, I wanted to keep things as close the the original sequence as possible.... The description for Karavakos also states that he'll burn his action point and blast with an area spell at the first opportunity. I didn't use it in the second go round since he didn't in the first even tough more PCs are in range.


    Kaddim knows that what is affecting him is a spectral hand that is physically grabbing him (a save won't get rid of it...).

    Sonya can use a minor action to heal Kaddim.

    Sonya uses a minor action to use Inspiring Word on Kaddim. Kaddim uses a healing surge and regains 19+8hp.

    Thia uses an interrupt to use Disruptive Strike on the green skull.

    DS 25-2 (cover) vs Ac hits for 22hp of damage. The -8 penalty to the attack on Thia turns it into a miss so Thia took 6hp of damage from the fireball instead of 12 (half damage on a miss...).

    Miri put up a Stinking Cloud that blocks line of sight. You can shoot it, but your attacks will be at -5 (concealment) and -2 for cover from the pillars.
