    3 south and charge

    I believe my damage should be 1d8(longsword) + 6 str + 7(2 + 5 Dex - Censure of Pursuit) + 2 (Longtooth shifting) = 1d8 + 15?

Blade carefully manuevers into flanking position and 13+8+2=23 barely hit for 10 hps. "Aagh! Naughty, naughty boy!"

Note: I forgot about the censure! Should have teleported to the other side of Ember had I remembered... I deducted the hits for this & shifting.

Angel's turn, then Telgarth & Ember...

Instead of 12 +8 flurry, Ember takes 7 necrotic +8 flurry. I added 5 hits back to Ember. (She does 2d6+5 on her claw attacks) Ember is still bloodied exactly.

There's only 2 squares south of you, and only 1 square you can charge to, so I put you in that square. I think the censure damage kicks in on her turn if she moves away right? Anyway, Telgarth charges in and ouch, 14+9+1=25 hit for max 14 hps.

Ember's Magic Missiles are auto hit, and being the last baddie... as she drops everything gets fuzzy and then darker and darker until you open your eyes again and you all are back in Giles' minivan. The last thing you notice from the dream is that embroidered on the Vampiress' robe is the same strange symbol that the casino uses for it's logo.

Blade wakes up first from the magical dream and found it an exhausting trip. (it cost 1 surge to make the trip from dreamstate to conciousness 19/30 8/11).

Telgarth wakes up next saving right away and the trip to conciousness cost him 2 surges 12/34 8/12.

Ember and Ashe wake up next missing their first save, then making the next, and the trip to conciousness cost them 3 surges. (Ember 15/30 2/11; Ashe 8/33 5/13)

Giles tells everyone that Angel is touch and go, missing 6 saves before sucess. Angel wakes up completely out of surges and was a missed save away from being taken by the Orpheus drug. 16/34 0/13

You all have been in the way too hot car for 8 hours so you have a little over 14 hours until dawn.

Giles tells you that the wannabes are in a hotel and (Stu's PC) is there watching them for now. He also confesses that while there used to be a Watcher's Council and a vast network of resources, the council was recently blown up and that he, and you PCs, the Zodiac Slayers or Prophesied Ones, are all there is.

He escaped the Council attack just as he grabbed recently decoded police permits that he shows to you all. You all recognize the dates and addresses as your parents' houses. The permits all say 'permission to inspect energy meter', but Giles says that's so the Vampires have permission to enter the premises, and also to show, in Vampire code for plausible denyability, the police and media have been properly bought off to cover up the massacre, and most importantly that it was by permission of the Vampire High Council.

Oddly, he has a police permit exactly like the others for this casino tonight. Vampires don't need permission to enter public facilities like this, so Giles is afraid something big is about to go down that must be stopped.

Giles seems happy and surprised that everybody recovered from the Orpheus drug and tells you that this rarely happens. He also asks about what happened in the dream and whet everyone can say about the casino & all the rooms...

Anyway, everyone's back in the minivan now... What does everybody want to do next?

It was early morning just after dawn when the dream/sleep started, which took 8 hours to recover from. If you also take an extended rest, you won't be able to buy anything else in town beyond what you have.

But we would have to cash in the chips at the casino...

What are the stats on the pistol? How much are ammo, mags?
    What other 'things' are available?
Is there magic/better items for purchase?

I am assuming we're still first level.

Is the plan to finish the adventure and then advance?

Ashe should have cash since he actually cashed out before heading to the bar. Will have to go dig up how much that was plus the $100 Giles gave him. I believe it was $250.

Angel, Ember, and Ashe should take an extended rest while the others go purchase items. Angel has 0 surges, Ember has 2 and Ashe has 5 and all are down hits so they will be even further down on surges after trying to get back to full.

Ashe has his sword, shield, and motorcycle outfit. Without his at wills (that I think he doesn't know about) Ashe would probably want a ranged option such as a gun.

EDIT: The post says Ashe was "up $250" so not sure if that means I have 350 or 250. I also bought some food and the SleepBGone.

So what I'm seeing is nobody really needs anything (which is what I thought, because the local store wouldn't be selling magic items).

So I think back to my original idea, everyone just take an extended rest. Then we can get our daily powers back, as well as surges.

    zip ties for prisoners
gass masks or some other type of air filter in case they try to gas us

If there's a church near by would they have holy water?

Would it be possible to set the casino on fire? If there aren't too many exits we could baracade the entrance/exits and set the place a blaze. (once the ritual starts of cource).

    Any other idea?

Ashe isn't comfortable with setting the Casino on fire because of the innocents in there. Of course the drug will probably take them regardless but try telling that to the police. If the people are all dead by that time then it would be a different story. Road flares or dragon breath, and containers of gas would all work really well to start a blaze.

We could steal a car from the parking lot and fill it with gas and other combustible/explosive household materials and "drive" it through the front doors and set it off inside the casino.

Are there any pawn shops in the area or other places that might be a good spot for black market activity? If we take the jackets with the patches of the casino and drop some names I bet we can get some ordinance that we wouldn't be able to get otherwise like assault rifles and grenades.

The pistol was found in a dream... you don't have that now that you've woken up

Telgarth wears the leather jackets and 16+10=26 streetwise, and for cash only, can get you unregistered guns, theives tools, etc, but thinks you're crazy if/when you ask about magic items.

I should have the sunblade in the car. It might not be out in the open yet since I haven't inserted the gems out here like I did in the dream.

I would have given Telgarth all my cash except for $50 so that we can make sure and have some for eating etc for the next few days. I am not sure if that is $200 or $300 that I would have given him though.

Correct and correct. Sword, shield, and backing were all one peice as a family crest and all the pieces are exactly as in the dream except in Giles' car(except with the backing intact, there are no gems in the sword).

Ashe will try to open the backing of the crest and find the jewels again. If he does he will put them in the blade again.

How much $$$ do I have available?

We will ned to make up Buffy-verse brand names, but basic versions of any type of gun might be found on the black market (to which Telgarth made a contact through the wannabe in the motel room). Special military versions may exist, but are beyond your current contacts. Cost will be roughly gp=dollars what they cost in the real world... which means you would know far better than any one else. You let me know what a basic (but decent) pistol, shotgun, etc. would cost and we'll go with that. (And everyone feel free to contribute Buffy-verse gun brand names!)

I will be using the D20 Modern 'Weapon's Locker' book for reference on specs on any particular gun as needed.

Everyone has their starting gold +100gp from Giles -what you spent in the casino. Telgarth also has 510gp in "Mr. Mui's Casino" chips, and Ember can't quite remember how much exactly, but says the casino is holding more than 5k gp in chips for her.

Guns will count as "military ranged" as require feats as thus.

Ashe does find the jewels exactly as in the dream, and when you put them in place, the sword becomes consumed with magical energy shining with the brightness of the sun and then dimming again. The jewels once in place are not removable. It is a +2 sunblade waiting for you to unlock it's daily power, just as in the dream.

What does the party want to do next?

Ember will color her hair black.
Did we take a extended rest yet?
    Are ready?
I think we need to go in early to investigate the upper level.
We may find some clues or equipment that may aid us.

At least the three of us need extended rests. Sounds like Telgarth went and did some shopping. I gave him my extra money and asked for a shotgun or pistol.

I need to know what we're doing about firearms(for game play).

I'd just as soon use a crossbow.

Pick a DnD ranged weapon. Call it whatever you like. Your still restricted to type of weapon it is, so if you can only shoot simple firearms you can pick a crossbow that does 1d8 damage. Then you can call it whatever gun suits the flavor of your character. If you can use Military weapons you can pick a longbow that does 1d10 damage, once again, calling it whatever you want. Regardless of what you consider it, machine gun, semi-auto, you still only get one attack per round, unless a power allows something different.

So in otherwords, pick a weapon and call it what you want.

Do we have a plan on sneaking in large weapons into the casino?
Swords, shields, staffs or shotguns will not get passed the bouncer.

Seem like a hand crossbow would be better then a hsnd gun.
It is silent and the bolts are would to slay the vampires.

Actually, I think I'd rather have a black wig then black hair coloring.

    Current status:
Angel, Ashe, and Ember are resting.

Telgarth seems to be doing a bit of shopping (and waiting for rules clarifications)

I believe Blade made a food run and is currently resting.

I don't think we're planning on doing much else until after the extended rest.

Even then I think we're just going to head back to the casino.

That's the reason for the change to a wig honey.
I go in, collect my chips, cash out
Then going to the little girls room to change outfits and put the wig and sunglasses on.

What rules clarifications are we waiting on?

It was just after dawn when Blade went to get the rest of you, you all were in a coma from the Orpheus drug for 8 hours, another extended rest 8 hours would put it at just before midnight then (we'll say 11:30pm).

What's the plan for heading back? You know the car drawing is every hour from midnight to dawn...

    Brad,

Are we just going to use book prices and call a hand crossbow a pistol for example? With regular book pricing?

Yes, 5 minutes to 6:00am is the Undead Witching Hour and important in Undead magic rituals.

Sounds like a plan to me. I think Ross has the right idea.

I still want to have an extended rest. But I would like to enter the facility no later than 4 AM as then we could see what is happening before the witching hour and take care of cashing in chips or other things.

I assume that since we are changing realities and just renaming items, I don't need to go to underworld contacts.

But the group needs some ranged weaponry. Telgarth wants a Dejada, 40 stones, Adventurer's Kit, 5 holy water, two boxes of 'NO Doze', and a pair of sunglasses.

Ember requested a wig, and sunglasses
Ashe just requested a longbow - shotgun & 20 arrows

Go in right after the extended rest (11:30pm) or closer to dawn around 4:00am as Ember suggests? Everyone going in at once and/or same entrance? Everyone except Telgarth is taking an extended rest? What is the party going to do about carrying in items? Ashe's fancy longsword will not be very easy to sneak in...
