Slave ship vs Gamma World

Ross, what level did you want to start the Gamma World adventure?

Would it be better to finish the Slave Ship adventure early, as appose to rushing through level ups, if you really want to run Gamma World now?

Can you convert the Slave Ship adventure into the Gamma World adventure?

I don't mind the bump to 11th in the Slave Ship adventure since I'd prefer to play in paragon. One level per adventure is fine, but multiple level bumps in the future will make it seem that we're missing out on actually playing the character (at least for me...)

...ditto, exactly what Ken said on all points; especially the part about breezing through the levels, making so that in the future, I'll feel a temptation to play another Artificer so that I get to play levels 6,7,8,9 and 10.

Concur. I don't mind the fast jumps to get to Paragon (feels more separate from 'War' campaign now), but I'd rather play 1x/level too.

I would like to play more at paragon. I haven't tried all the classes yet but I have done a lot of melee chars in heroic. Would like to get more into the paragon paths and then eventually into epic destinies.

I do like the 1 level per session but in some parts of heroic and paragon there are "slow" levels where you are basically the same as you were in the previous level. This can be build specific though, not sure about all class/race combinations.

I won't be doing Gamma World for awhile, or I'll mix it into the Slave Ship adventure every now and then. I just wanted us into Paragon a little faster. I like the monsters at that level better than the heroic, and yes I was planning only 1 level per adventure, unless I get bored of Paragon and want you guys at Epic quicker.

Just picked up the Gamma World Box set from Uncle's Games at SouthCenter.

Amazon.com just shipped my copy of Gamma World. I also have been reading my original Gamma World rules from the 80's.

Don't even bother with trying to compare the two games. They are extremely different.

Once you get a chance to review the rules we should have a one off gamma world session.

The game only really goes until 10th level, and then it's done, so I don't think it will replace my campaign.

Why only 10th?

I thought it was based on 4.0 and just modified existing classes/races.

Weird thing about Gamma World is no Classes. You get two races you have to combine. Some of the races could be classified as Classes though, but they are still treated like a race. You could have two things that seem like classes or two that are like races. Plus it's random.
