    Sonya:
Move Action: Shift E (so I'm still N of medusa)
Standard Action: White Raven Strike (no allies to heal anyway) +13 vs AC 3d12+6 damage at the medusa
    Minor Action: No heals left...
    ...done

You two dished out 110 hits of damage the round AFTER I turned to stone? Ken's right. We could have used that a few rounds ago!

As I was talking to Ross this morning I believe I was thinking of a power incorrectly which is a major tactical mistake. Also, I believe I am at 4 HP so this is going to be tight.

Thia will stand as a move.
HQ should already be applied to the gargoyle so no minor.
Nimble Strike the Gargoyle opting to shift 1 west before the attack so no AoO.

Standard: use Nimble Strike and shift before the attack to avoid an AoO
NS 33 vs Ac (critical) hit for 22+3+3=28hp of damage (when it rains it pours...)

The gargolye is still up but looks very badly wounded.

    Green Gargoyle's turn:
Move: shift to the east wall next to the door.

    Standard: assum stone form...

cut off her snakey hair if it doesn't appear that doing so will kill her, blind fold her securely, tie her up with rope from my pack, have Tia assist on the ropes so it is harder for the medusa to escape. Rest for 5 minutes...

Can we move the Orcs when they are in stone form? How heavy are they? How fast are they regenerating?

My first thought is if they regenerate up to full in 5 minutes we are hosed since I am not sure we can down two of them before they down us. the places I am thinking we could drop them in is the pit by the other gargoyles or the water in the sauhaugin(sp?) room.

Cutting off her snakey hair may not kill her, but would be maiming her. I'm not sure how useful of a prisoner she'll be after that...

Blindfold and binding is not a problem.

Looking at the rate the gargoyles regenerate you figure they'll be at full health in 2-3 minutes.

Yes, the gargoyles can be moved while in stone form. You'd have to make a bull rush attack to push them. Note: the can revert back at any time...

    Where will you rest?

What do you think Sonya? I don't want to leave the others here in case the gargoyles try to use them as leverage against us but we also can't rest since they will be at full before we can spend surges. If we could be at full before them it might be different.

Does the ogre or the medusa have anything we could tie up the orcs with? Something they wouldn't easily be able to break out of?

The PCs have rope, but the gargoyles are not dead and will sense you approach and may attack.

...I say we attempt to tie up the Gargoyles because right now, we might have the advantage; one at a time, the most wounded one first. Okay won't cut off the medusa's hair; we at least want a chance she will help us. Make sure, as best we can, that the snakes can't remove the blindfold.
Hmmm, Sonya will ask Thia, which of our dubious allies might best help us.

Well I'm not sure I would call them allies but the Eladrins are right there and might have had issues with these guys. We might be able to enlist them.

The gargoyles can't make it up here.

I doubt we could make it to anyone else on the lower level and back in 2-3 minutes.

    Am I missing anyone?

Are you going to attempt to tie up the gargolyes? If so, who's going to do it and where will the other PC be?

If you contact the eladrin, what do you say and who's going?

You're able to bind the medusa and make sure her 'hair' won't be a problem.

Sonya "We come in peace. We've defeated the medusa and temporarily neutralized her gargoyle allies. If any of your number have been turned to stone since you've been here, we wanted to extend you the opportunity to work together to perhaps recover them. If you haven't suffered that misfortune, then we'd like to inquire if you have any resources that might be able to restore stoned people to normal. If you can help us restore our companions, this may be an opportunity to expand the area you control as the medusa's area will be much easier to occupy if she's captive and the gargoyle minions are defeated. Lastly, we still desire to leave this place and we will gladly show our allies the way out once we find it."
Sonya will look toward Thia to see if she has anything to add and then await a response from the Eladrin. Sonya will use every bit of CHA she has when making her proposition.

Sonya sees that they seemed impressed when she tells them that you've defeated the medusa and gargoyles, but not so much when you mention that some of your party were turned to stone.

The eladrin that opened the door speaks to another eladrin who runs off. You see him go east then south to the caster's room, then a few seconds later he heads north toward Breeze's area. While he's gone Thia notices that one of the eladrin Knights is wielding a longsword that look familiar, it looks like the one Kaddim use to use...

About a minute later the caster approaches from the north (Breeze's area) to talk with Sonya and Thia. Both Thia and Sonya notice that there are more eladrin Blades than there were the last time you were here.

I think we may be able to assist you, but it will require a few things... Gives us the medusa and that big sword of yours (assuming Sonya still has the acid Bastardsword) and we'll provide you a way to get your friends back.

Sonya "Very good, explain yourself a little further, and we may very well have a deal." Sonya pulls out the Acid Bastard Sword, point down and still in the scabbard (if there was one) in as non-threatening a manner as you can pull out a bastard sword.

Breeze has a score to settle with the medusa and will give you the cure for her.

The sword is for us, think of it as a transaction fee...

Two of the eladrins move to get the medusa, no weapons out. Do you let them? Do you hand over the sword?

Agree, I don't like it, but I don't see any good alternative. Agree, take a short rest and get back up to full; no action point however. If it looks like it might be a while and we can take a 10 minute rest, then I'll use my IW to give you an extra 2d6 healing on the first two surges you use, might save you a surge.

The eladrin take the medusa east then north into Breezes area.

After about a minute you hear female screams (the medusa) and a loud draconic roar, then the screams stop...

Another minute later an eladrin approaches with a bottle.

Breeze instructed me to tell you to cover the lips of your comrades with this liquid. It will reverse the stoning process, but it is tramatic. Depending on how healthy they were before they may not survive the transformation. Someone proficient in healing should administer the liquid.

We can administer the liquid if you can not, but we would need you to bring your comrads here as we can't leave the cold for long.

The whole transaction took about 2 minutes, do you still want to rest here? Resting in the cold could be hazaardous? If the door to the eladrin area is closed you should be warm enough to rest.

Can we rest just outside the doors of the Eladrin area, with the doors closed? If so, we'll take an (additional) eight minutes to rest.

Yes, you can rest outside the eladrin area next to the closed door, but there is also stairs going up to the third level of the pyramid and there are no doors on the 2nd level side...

The eladrin will tell you that nothing has come down for a while, but when they do it takes all of them to repel them.

Also... Breeze says that if you do happen to slay the cultist to the south she has a reward for you.

Yeah, we'll take a chance that nothing will show up for eight minutes...we can always run away, right? We'll rest outside the doors we came in and then head back to unstone the others.

Sonya and Thia take a short rest and are not interrupted.

Sonya uses Inspiring Word on Thia twice each for 6hp. Thia is still down 16 so she uses an other surge.

Sonya and Thia then take another short rest... and are not interrupted.

Thia is currently at 65/65 hp with 2/7 surges
Sonya is currently at 59/66hp with 6/9 surges

    Time to revive the others...

When you move back to the area of the battle the first thing you notice is that the gargoyles are gone. The PCs are right where you left them and it doesn't look like they've been harmed.

Sonya applies the liquid (which smells and feels like blood) to the stoned PC and is assisted by Thia.

It doesn't look like it anything happens then about a minute goes by and you can see them start to move slowly.

Miri is the first to be revived and takes 14hp of damage from the transformation.
Candelos revives next and he takes 19hp from the transformation.
Kaddim is the last to be revived and the experiance seemed very traumatic to him. He takes 38hp of damage.

    Current status:
    Miri 29/58hp with 7/9 surges
    Candelos 59/78hp with 12/14 surges
    Kaddim 21/79hp with 10/11 surges.

Now that the party is back together where to?

...you guys should all use your second winds to get back to a decent amount of hits, or we can rest here for five minutes. I can use both my IW and add 2d6 to your surges. For Kaddim I can use Rousing Words and give him back +10 hits if he uses two surges.

I say we rest and then either hunt the gargoyles down and finish them or we head for the place where the dragon said he would reward us. Sonya will relay everything that happened after the others turned to stone. She will also tell them that if we meet another medusa, closing your eyes once in a while is okay. Sonya will admit she kept her eyes open a few times only because her amulet protects her (+2 to saves vs. Slow and Immobilize and if I fail a save, I can reroll it).

Let's do a 5 min rest. No sense using up resources of we don't have to.

Another option: We've been getting out asses handed to us the last couple encounters... We could go back down a level and try clearing out the first level again...

Once the stoned party members are revived the PCs take a short rest. Sonya uses her healing powers to assist in the healing.

    Current PC status:
    Miri 57/58hp with 5/9 surges
    Candelos 78/78hp with 11/14 surges
    Kaddim 75/79hp with 8/11 surges
    Thia 65/65hp with 2/7 surges
    Sonya 59/66hp with 6/9 surges

The party takes a look in the room where the medusa, ogre, and gargoyles were in and find:
A statue of a tiefling (very lifelike)

An archway around the corner to the south heading east.
You can't see through the archway but you do see an inscription around it's frame.

"Let those who embrace the darkeness of ignorance walk forward, heedless of all knowledge. The blind and deaf fear no danger, for the Keeper of the Way shall guide their steps."

...we never really specified to the Dragon how many of our party members were stone. How much of the cure (blood) do we have left? If we have ample left, what does the party think about unstoning the tiefling?

Sonya uses the 'unstoning' liquid on the tiefling statue.

After about a minutes the statues shakes, the tiefling becomes unstoned, shakes, and falls to the ground. Sonya checks him and he did not survive the transformation.

Vyrellis tells Candelos that he looks familiar, but doesn't know his name. She think he was some type of officer in Karavakos' protection detail.

    Looking at his equipment...
    His sword looks really nice...
    His armor looks nice...
He has a gold chain around his neck which has a vial of silvery powerder.

Miri and Kaddim evaluate the pieces.
    +2 Fine Chainmail of Cleansing
    +2 Fullblade of Transference
    Vial of Risiduum 1000gp

    Nothing else of note
