    I moved him because he wanted to be able to see the door. Any farther west and he can't, especially if he moves north as well.

    I have a bad feeling about this =)

    If they say something before attacking Thia will say "Look, we need to rest so we can regain our strength and make items for Breeze. This is the best place we have found and the closest to Breeze."

    Thia will move to the east, just enough to be seen. That way she can hopefully shift back out of sight if needed.

    Hmm going back through my notes I don't see a set of +3 hide armor. Are you sure you have that right?


    I'm showing +3 (cloth) armor found by Candelos behind a secret door in a trapped temple.

    After the five minutes are up an eladrin opens the door and the caster is next to him.

    The caster says "Leave NOW".

    Breeze is looking for fire resistance items. I am not sure what exactly we can make but we will do our best and that means we need some place to sleep. Breeze has somethings we want and we can make something Breeze wants. Mutually beneficial.

    If you make something for us as well during your rest, then you can sleep in our area, otherwise you must find another location.

    4 things we can not make, but one item perhaps. What were you thinking of? Please remember that the making of items taxes our strength as well as our resources. What would you be willing to give us in exchange for an item? Sleeping here is for the ability to make items.

    Protection is all we can offer. If that is not enough, then you will have to leave.

    As to what we can use... necrotic protection would be useful. We occasionally get attacked by undead and cultist who sometimes come down from other areas.

    I don't think anyone is OK with using one of our few item creation slots for just protection for one night.

    Thia isn't and I will let the others speak for themselves.

    It not just the lose of a item creation slot but I haven't hear anything about them furnishing the materials/resin to make a item for them. The heck we'll going give our resin up for their item.

    I don't know the rule that well but how does she get a suprise round?
    I not like we weren't expecting a fight to start.
    Candelos stated he's waiting for the fight to start.
    I would think she would only get to be the top of the order.

    I think that's right. She started the action, so gets a standard action only for her surprise round, and that's what the rest of us are reacting to. She must also have a screaming high init is all...

    Yes both sides are aware of the other, but the action has to start somewhere.

    Since she is initiating the first attack
    Either she gets a surprise round (one standard action which she used to teleport)

    or

    Initiative is rolled and anyone before her doesn't get a turn and she starts at the top.

    She did happen to roll the highest (+10 Initiative) and goes first.

    The party is aware of her and even thinks there may be a battle coming up, but if we rolled initiative and the party rolled higher was the party going to attack first or wait for them to make a move?

    Candelos seem to be the only one stated he was ready for a attack. The smallest flinch would have sent him in to battle. If he would have rolled higher then her, he wouldn't wait.

    Standard: Lightning Lure on the one to my South. (If I hit use the Daily Flaming power of the sword)

    Surprise only occurs if one side is not aware of the other. If Candelos had a ready action he could have taken it if the trigger was her doing an action.

    Thia moves east until she sees something other than a blade. She then moves south and/or east as far as she can go and still have a shot at the knight.

    She uses Hunters Bear Trap - Searched back through and didnt see anywhere that I used it since the last rest.

    She will use Elven reroll if she misses.

    If she has an action point she will use it to Biting Volley and Elven Reroll if she didn't need it on the hunters bear trap.

    Candelos didn't have a ready action, he was ready for an attack, but had no action readied.

    The caster's action wouldn't have changed since she could have teleported first, then attacked instead of teleport, attack, teleport.

    I think you did that right. You can't have a readied action before combat starts.

    The "smallest flinch" was her teleport action, and her +10 init still made her quicker on the draw after that. There is no "he wouldn't wait", because we were waiting, for them to make the first move during all those rounds of parley. I'd have ruled the same way.

    ...correct, there is no "ready action" before combat starts. I agree with Brad. The caster gets the first action and everyone else is in initiative order.

    free action: with OHOM, say to the party, it looks like they trying to lure us into pursuing them and hitting us when we are on the ice.

    One knight is missing though (if Kaddim shared that with us) so he might be out grabbing Breeze. We were attacked first while we were trying to rest.

    Pull back into this room and lets try to rest.

    I think it's more likely the 3rd knight was always in that NE room and the witch teleported back into his LOS for shielding.

    Move Action: I can't see the map, as usual. Move to the east where there is a set of doors.
    Minor Action: Try to open.
    Standard Action: If the door opens, throw shield or make a Basic Attack vs any enemy within range. If the door opens and there are no enemies in sight, ready action to swing or throw at any such.
    If the door doesn't open with my minor action, use standard action to attempt to break down the door.

    I can't post maps at the moment. The kids are home today and on the computer. I can't run MapTools while they're on because it takes too much CPU/RAM. I'm running Maptools on my laptop that I have with me Smile.

    When Sonya looks at the door to the east she can tell that it has been nailed shut. There are spikes going from the outside into the ground and into the walls. It would take several rounds to try to break through.
