    Thia will spend her standard action this round to study it. The sword bursts etc should be able to take down the minions.

    Readying an action is a Standard Action (even if your action is only a minor action). Miri already used her standard action this round to attack.

    Thia notices the following:
    The alter in the room is the focal point of the trap.
    The trap is primarily Arcane in nature but other skills may also help.
    Multiple successfule skill checks are required to defeat the trap.

    Free Action: (point with my head) say "Thia, Candelos, can you take this one?" and nod to the one to my NW.

    ...done... (too bad I can't use my move action to look around the room)

    These are my actions for the rest of this trap. If there are two and I can move somewhere that I can hit both use cleave. If there is only one then use sure strike.

    I am gone for the rest of this weekend so talk to you all Monday.

    Note:
    Miri/Kaddim can't trade places without provoking an AoO since you can't move diagonal around a corner.

    Miri could use her boots to shift two (or use a move/standard to shift twice) and Kaddim could use his readied action to shift one (N or E) once Miri is in his square.

    Standard: Total Defense
    Minor: Shift 1E then shift 1S

    Miri shifts 1 square east with no problem. When she attempts to shift 1 square south two things take place.

    1. Kaddim's readied action kicks in and he shifts 1 square east.
    2. The trap spawns two fiends. One into the square Kaddim exited and one in the square west of Miri.

    Miri is unable to shift south.

    Two Fiends are spawned and attack Miri
    Fiend #1: longsword 29 vs Ac hits for 6hp
    Fiend #3: longsword 20 vs Ac miss.

    Miri still has a move action remaining.
    Next up Thia, then Sonya

    Dana: You guys may want to focus on disabling the trap instead of getting through the doors. I've tried for a long time to get to/through the doors and haven't had any luck.

    I was actually going to do so. Miri just needs to get a flaming sphere in there and that will wipe out the minions.

    Thia will spend her time trying to disable the trap. If she figures out how it is triggered she will tell everyone else to stop triggering it.

    If Thia is able to in anyway figure out why it is trapping Dana, she will do so. She doesn't trust Dana.

    From watching when the fiends spawn, Thia believes they spawn as PCs move toward the doors. Thia doesn't know if it's mechanical or magical as she hasn't studied the area near the doors.

    Thia knows that the alter is somehow connected to the doors, but it'll take someone more skilled in religion or arcana to figure it out.

    Sounds good, if that was her Standard action Thia will use a free action to ask Miri to come over and study the trap. If she still has a standard action then twin shot. Also as a free action, reiterate to the group to NOT go near the doors.

    Is Miri the only one trained in Arcana? Okay, I'll stop trying to go toward the door for now, even though I think the breaching armor would work...

    Probably not the only one but Miri is a wizard so Thia is fairly sure you do have it. Plus it stops you from triggering the trap.

    Thia uses Twin Strike on two different fiends:
    TS #1 on Fiend #2 30 vs Ac hits for 12 hp. Fiend #2 falls
    TS #2 on Fiend #1 18 vs Ac miss.

    I have Candelos as having 14 dex so you're +10 to hit throwing daggers. (but they have 29 AC so you need a 19...)

    Candlos moves and throws a dagger 15 vs AC miss.

    Since Thia can't help with the Arcane part of the trap she will twin strike. If she can help to disable the trap in anyway she will do so.

    For now Thia will attack with True Strike.

    Miri takes a swing on the Fiend NE of her.

    Dana:
    You may be able to get through the door, but how will we get out if the fiends continue to spawn? I think disabling the magic on the alter is the best way to go.


    Note/Reminder:
    Quinn is at 40/73 hp. If he gets bloodied he'll have to make a save to see if he goes beserk..

    Inspiring Word on Quinn.
    Quinn gains 18+7hp.
    Quinn is now at 65/73hp with 6/11 surges

    Standard:
    Use Perception check on the alter. 2+3=5
    Sonya doesn't notice anything... (Thia's passive perception of 26 found what could be found)

    On Candlos' turn he moves adjacent to the alter and notices that a Religion check can be used to disable the trap in addition to Arcana checks.

    Standard Action:
    Religion Check 2+11=13 failed

    When Candelos fails the Religion check two fiends spawn near the door and attack.
    Fiend #1 attacks Danna longsword 20 vs Ac miss

    Danna:
    Kaddim help I'm being attacked.
    Someone may want to help whoever is disabling the trap. I wouldn't want everyone else trapped in here like I am.

    Fiend #2 attacks Miri 28 vs Ac hits for 6hp.
    Miri is currently at 42/54hp with 6/9 surges remaining.

    After the Fiends attack, Quinn's turn.
    Quinn uses Cleave to attack two adjacent fiends.
    Cleave 31 vs Ac hits for 11hp and 5hp on another fiend. Two fiends fall.

    Miri notes the following:
    There are several magical and mechanical traps on the alter.

    The alter contols the spawning of the fiends near the doors.

    Several successful skill checks are needed to defeat the trap. After a successful Arcana check used to break the first ward, Thievery, Religion, or Arcana skills can be used.

    If the party is unsuccessful in getting by all of the wards (X number of failures before Y successes), something bad may happen, but the trap will reset, in time...

    Thia noted (forgot to mention...) that a Perception check before a Thievery check can aid/penalize a Thievery check.

    Sonya will suggest that we start with the Perception check and have a primary PC (the best) with then next two in that skill attempt to assist in each check until we have either made the bad thing happen, or have gotten by the trap. People not doing the skill or assisting should be standing by on guard.
