Note: The team will need to have at least one 'team leader' that must be Human (Tau'ri), with Soldier class or Military background.

    Ross:
    Walt - Human (Tau'ri) Engineer
    Nykal - Jaffa Soldier

    Mick:
    Nyssa - Jaffa Scout
    - Human (Tollan) Medic

    Stu:
    Joyako - Human (Tau'ri) Medic

    Chris:
    Hall - Human (Tollan) Engineer

Ive just read thru it real quick so i my be missing something, but it seems like one of the medics should be a diplomat instead, if willing. That way we will get some temp heals and a wider variety of abilities (like inspire).

I would be willing to be a soldier/leader, it sounds interesting. I may need some help building it, but ill give it a shot this week and ask if i run into problems.

Ross created a spreadsheet builder that makes it pretty easy to make Stargate PCs
    https://nwgamers.forumotion.com/t1727-dnd5e-ross-s-stargate-sg-1-rpg-character-builder#21829

There's also instructions on how to import it into Roll20.

A soldier would be great, looks like the party really needs one...

The party is currently missing Soldier, Scientist, and Diplomat.
Both Scientist and Diplomat come with a translator which may come in handy...

    Note:
Unlike the tv show, very few if any races will speak English.
Humans that were brought from Earth will have at least one ancient Earth language, so a translator will make communications a lot easier...

In reading thru the rules I see several type of humans described but only two are listed as to actual rules adjustments. If I want to play for example a Cimmerian human, is there somewhere I can look up the traits for that? Or am I not allowed to play anything but the two types listed under the race description?

Also Ross' sheet says I don't have access.

If there is not a variant human listed with specific stats then just use Human.

When using Ross' sheet are you making a copy or editing directly?

Right now there are three types of humans playable: Tau'ri (from Earth), Abydonian (from Abydos), and Tollan (from Tollan/Tollana)

Yeah I was hoping there was a type of human that had better soldier stats. I just made her Tau'ri. I think i filled out Ross' sheet correctly (thx for making this Ross!) but if someone can take a look I would appreciate it.

    Annabelle Lenore

Also I have a couple questions... It looks like I just get one feat (for being a soldier) but I couldn't find anywhere that said this for sure. Do we start out with some points to spend or no? Also I dont know what a Longarm Upgrade is. And for the rest of the gear it says we can pick additional items but not how much or if there is some cost or limit so I just made a list of things below my assigned gear to see if it was OK.

I also am unclear on bulk and load. Is load how much bulk I can have? What is the penalty for having too much bulk? Is there a bonus for being under my limit? Can I pick gear out and then just not carry it all?

What is the deal with having multiple characters? It sounds like I need two? Are we swapping back and forth between them?

OK that's all for now. Thanks!

The only thing I see incorrect on the sheet is the PC AC (looks like Dex was added twice). The checkbox adds dex so you only need to put in the AC of the armor which is 16.

Being a Soldier you get to add a Climbing Kit to your Base kit for free.

In your base kit (which doesn't count against bulk) you have the items on p58.

    of which include:
    Sidearm with 2 magazines
    Longarm with 2 magazines
    Combat knife

    For Loadout and Bulk...

    From Equipment Chapter:
    Equipment:

So you can only get items up to your loadout, no penalty for getting less. Can't have more...

So, wearing a Tactical Vest with Str of 12 you have 9 for a Loadout.
The table on page 75 list bulk for most items.

Extra magazines 1 bulk for 2 clips
Grenades 1 bulk for 3 grenades

You can requisition items that have a total bulk of less than or equal to 9.

    As far as Feats...

A Soldier gets a Tactical feat at 1st and 4th (it's listed under Tactics).

As the PCs do missions they'll get Mission Points (MPs).
For levels 1-5, that's how PCs advance. 5MP per level.

After level 5, MPs can be spent to buy feats.

    Two PCs per Player...
    https://nwgamers.forumotion.com/t1704-stargate-sg-p#21635

I wanted players to have a backup PC and also wanted flexibility since some missions may require different skill sets than others.

I also wanted the team leader to 'build' the team based on the Briefing.

I'm debating on adding a 'House Rule' where:
The 'team leader' will also get +1 MP on a successful mission and -1MP on a failed mission. I'll need to cap it so they don't get too far ahead of everyone else.

    Ok, thanks for the help.

I adjusted my gear and the AC on my armor. I have a couple questions left.

I dont know what a Longarm Upgrade is. Does this mean a nonstandard weapon, or some sort of add-on like a grenade launcher or silencer.

If I am at full 'bulk' how does that interact with finding gear/treasure/mission goals in the field? Is there any advantage to running under full 'bulk'? Like is it easier to stealth if I dont have 27 grenades in my bag?

If I am the team leader does that mean I only need one character? Or is someone else making a soldier/leader and we will swap off? I like your idea of risk/reward for the leader. Instead of capping it you could have a bonus that only non-leaders can earn.

PlaguePixie wrote:Also I dont know what a Longarm Upgrade is.

The standard P90 comes with 4 upgrades:
    Automatic
Fire bullets in groups of 10 for +TD damage
You can fire StrMod number of groups
One attack roll at disadvantage +TD damage/group +base damage

    Burst
Fire 3 bullets in a burst
One attack roll, base damage +TD damage

    Extended capacity
Normal magazine size if 30, with extended capacity you have 60.

    Reflex sight
If you don't move and fire one shot, you have advantage for short range (200m)

Not sure if this means you loose your Move action for the round. Or can you shoot then move? I'm leaning toward loosing the move action... thoughts...

A list of the upgrades are on p67.
If you're going to use Automatic, you'll probably want Recoil Compensation. It increases the weapon bulk +1, but removes disadvantage for using Auto at short range.

Bulk only applies to initial item requisition from the base stockroom.
When going on a mission you'll only have items provided from the stockroom. So, limited by loadout.

Once you're on a mission and you happen to find a weapons cache, you can get more items limited by your strength (Using Ability Scores p109).

The group should probably have more than one person that has a 'leader' (soldier or Tau'ri with military origin). If the primary can't play for some reason, the backup can take over. It's a military unit and not just anyone can take over...

Sorry, no extras yet. I still need to get a handle on things.

You can apply the upgrade to your sidearm instead.

I am allowing PC to reconfigure the upgrades on the base weapons though.

A stock P90 has four upgrades, instead of those you can pick the four you like best.

I'll assume during training you developed an affinity for a specific setup and request that in advance.

In the last beta rules released, Longarms wasn't part of the base kit.
Since it's there now, I'm guessing everyone can use it.

But, to add your Proficiency bonus to the attack roll you have to be proficient in the weapon (Equipment p62)

That's the only downside I currently see for using a non-proficient weapon. Still looking through the rules...

    Note:
I was trying to make a Scientist as a backup PC that used a Grenade Launcher. It says it requires the Gunnery proficiency, but I can't find that anywhere...

    Feats p89 (Weapon Proficiency Feat)
Looks like you'd have to be level 5+3MP to get it

Though the regular Military origin lets you get any one weapon proficiency whereas Tau'ri Military gives specific ones
