Kobe and Stuart passed thier 2nd degree black belt pre-test today. Brad was there, thank you for your support.
No problems - Board breaks, Kobe straight punch through two, first try; side kick through two, first try; front kick through two, third try. Stuart: reverse elbow through one continuing to forward reverse (yes the hand is going forward, but I'm doing it off my back leg - so "reverse") palm strike through three, first try: down block through one continuing to burst ahead side kick through five (second try): spinning back kick through five (first try).
Korean terms, forms, hand and feet combos, 50 kicks in 30 seconds, all no problem. I think Kobe was running out of gas near the end of sparring (2 min). I think I had a really good sparring match, but I was in it, so not sure how I looked compared to the others (all high belts).
Three on one sparring, I think we both did pretty well.
Then a BBQ on the lake with a pretty good number of people from the school.
So, now Kobe and I can take the actual 2nd Degree Test, in January in Portland, or in March in Renton - leaning toward January.
