Miniatures in color

Was just going to post this...

I saw this too. Very exciting. I wonder what the price point will be and what the quality of the paint job will be? I'm thinking that sections of the figures will be solid colors. I think I could enhance the colored figures with washes and a bit of dry brushing.

If one is not a painter, this added feature could be a super way for someone to get just the perfect, ready to game with figure for your super odd PC.

I don't think they will be painted. It will just be the filaments that are colored, then we can just finished them, as you said, with washes and dry brushing.
Unless they have a way of basically painting them with a machine, which would be pretty cool. Might put a bunch of Chinese workers out of business.

At first I got the early bird for 2 figures, but then I changed it and got the early bird for 10. Figured I’d use them all eventually. They will give you vouchers and you use them whenever you want.

Black Magic Craft (channel w 216K subscribers) - Post of Jan 28th

So Ibuki purchased one of the colored figures - Walster, and it looks great. I was inspired so I finally got around to using two of my four Kick Starter color figures on Hero Forge. I did Azumi (from the movie) and I did Buzzard Bait's Elite Guard (from the 80's) from the world of Westron.

Things must be slow at Hero Forge. Rather than the usual five to eight weeks, I just rec'd an eMail that my finished figures shipped yesterday. That's only a four working day turn around.

Well, they arrived. The colors are quite a bit washed out, especially all the metallic colors. Golds, Silvers, and Steel colors all mostly appear white on the figures with a tiny bit of tint. Maybe stick to very dark and vibrant colors so you'll get a figure that is lightly colored. The figures are totally playable and with a bit of touch up, they'll look great. The light tinting makes it easy for me to see where different parts of the figure begin and end, like where a cape meets a robe or a belt intersects a strap, the trim on a shirt or the cuff of a boot.

Hopefully they will keep improving the technology.

I finished touching them up and as expected they look great. Hair especially turns out good. Armor is better but not as good as I'd hoped. On future figures, I'd be tempted to lean toward characters that wear more clothing than armor. Also skin shading is a bit over done in my opinion but on a barbarian or similar character with a lot of skin, it might look good.

New PC I made for playing with Lisa and Christina.
Ordered him on Sunday. Hopefully the darker colors will go well with the Hero Forge printing.

...is the bird a Raven, a Crow, or something else? I'm assuming that is your familiar... does it have a name?

It's a raven as described in HeroForge but I'm playing him as the form of a crow.
He's actually a Bound Demon, which is almost like a tiny lemure demon that can fly.
For RolePlay, I'm saying he can take the form of a crow.
I just call him "Crow".
