    The party detects a new unknown creature (2S+1E) near Candelos.

    The unknown creature uses a power and the creature that was killed by Thia is revived. It is prone in the square SE of Candelos.

    The unknown creature makes an attack on Kaddim.
    Fear 20+2 vs Will hits for 7hp of cold damage. Kaddim is pushed north.

    The unknown creature makes an attack on Candelos
    Flame 27+2 vs Fort hits for 12hp of Fire & Necrotic damage.




    After this creature goes Kaddim is attacked...
    Kaddim can sense the presense of three creatures. One to his east, one to his west, and one that moved from the north down to Kaddim's SW.

    Creature #1 makes multiple attacks on Kaddim using Cascade of Steel.
    CoS #1 20+2 vs Ac miss
    CoS #2 16+2 vs Ac miss
    CoS #3 27+2 vs Ac hits for 8hp of necrotic damage.
    CoS #4 19+2 vs Ac miss

    Note: I didn't add this in, but...

    Kaddim noticed that when he was bloodied he started taking extra damage from the necrotic attacks.

    In this area a bloodied living creature gains 5 vulnerability to necrotic damage.

    I say we take Kaddim and get out.
    5 vulnerability when bloodied will suck when most of us have so few surges.

    The only ones low on surges is Thia and possibly Sonya (3/9 surges)...

    In 4.0 monsters don't attack when you're unconscious correct?

    If a creature makes an attack that has multiple rolls do they stop rolling when the target is unconscious or do they roll all attacks?

    Kaddim would be unconscious after the second attack.
    1st did 10hp of damage.
    2nd did 17hp of damage.
    4th would do 17hp of damage.

    Kaddim is either at -8 or at -25

    The attacks by the creature to the north are untypes, not necrotic.

    So Kaddim took 5+12+12hp of damage. He is now at -10hp.

    In the DMG, I recall reading that monsters "typically" don't attack PC's after they are down, but there are exceptions. I can look for the exact passage but it was something along the lines of monsters will only attack those that are still a threat and after a PC is down, the monsters will conserve their energy to defend themselves.

    I recall the gist of the exception language as being something like, if the elf PC downs the orc chief's pet wolf and then takes the time to finish it off, then the orc chief would be justified in doing the same to the elf PC if the opportunity arose. I'll look up the language a little later.

    Found it, DMG pg 40
    Monsters and Fallen Characters - Don't hit people when they're down. When a character falls unconscious, monsters turn their attention to enemies who are still up and fighting. Monsters don't usually intentionally deal damage to fallen foes... ...so the other characters should always have a chance to rescue their fallen allies.

    OHOM - "I think I can still heal Kaddim" says Sonya.
    Most of my heals are close bursts where I only need LoE.

    I thought we tried that before we went in the room! Miri will use a minor to cast 'Light' on Candelos' square, & if neccessary, move to get in position to do it. done.

    Also want to see exactly where Miri moves to and what I can (and can't see) and what Miri and Candelos can/ can't see after Miri's light and movement.

    Sony threw a sunrod into the center corridor, but not into one of the four areas with the statues.

    Since PC/NPCs are suppose to know where all non-hidden creatures are I'l show the map of the SE area.

    Note: The PCs can't see past the pillars, but know where the creatures are.

    Before Sonya goes - use OHOM to inform Miri where the bad guys to the south are and suggest "if you have something that affects an area to slow them down, use it now!" (e.g. Action Point). If Miri want to use her AP before Sonya starts her turn, that would be good.

    Move - NE, N (not difficult because it doesn't have a piller, right?), NE, NW (I should end up w a monster to the W).
    Minor - Rousing Words on Kaddim (don't forget the 10 bonus hits). Now, if he's prone but with positive hits, he'd give me a flanking bonus, right?
    Standard - Bastion of Defense on wounded monster to the W. Now, I may not do this if the DM rules that I don't get flanking and Thia and Miri won't benefit from the 10 temporary hits even though they are within 5 squares of me. Kaddim and Candelos should get the temporary hits as Kaddim should be up from the Rousing words. If I manage to hit, how will you track the +1 bonus to everyone's defenses?

    Possible AP - depending on if I hit and how bad the monster seems damaged, I may use an AP especially if I have flanking w Kaddim.

    Lion's roar, same enemy. Give the healing to Kaddim. Give Kaddim the bonus hits rather than a save. Did Kaddim receive the +10 bonus hits for the Rousing words? This should put Kaddim close to max and with temp hits too.

    +10hp added. Kaddim is now at 48/79hp +10temp, with 6/11 surges.


    Sonya uses an AP.
    Lion's Roar on the undead.
    LR 32+2 vs Ac hits for 19hp of damage.

    Kaddim gets to use another healing surge and is at 67/79hp with 5/11 surges.

    Remember guys, we can't actually see the portraits in the SE quadrant but we do know the one I hit was a minions since he dropped with one shot.

    Also, everyone remember that bursts and blasts don't care about concealment.

    NPC's turn:

    The PCs see a creature go from the SE area to the sunrod. The creature picks up the sunrod them moves to the NW area.

    Thia is the only one that can detect the creature but doesn't know exactly where it is. Though it was SE of the NW statue when she lost it.

    The party loose track of where the creatures to the SE are. Except for one that hasn't had it's turn yet.

    Thia will use Spitting Cobra strike as a standard and shift 1E to get the plus from the boots. Minor HQ the nearest which I believe is the top guy to the SE.

    Note: I think you'll have to HQ before you shift since you'll loose LOE.

    You're currently in the dark...

    When the sunrod was moved the corridor when dark. Thia should also be in the dark since neither of you have a light source.

    There are currently three light sources in play.

    1. an NPC took a sunrod to the NW statue.
    2. Sonya has a tourch
    3. There is a light spell in the space where Candelos is.

    Miri is currently 1S and 2W of Thia (just inside the room).

    I think Miri is after Candelos...

    Miri will:

    Move action: move 1 N (2 movements because can't see) + 1 N (2 more movements because of difficult terrain) + 1 N + 1 NW. That should be her full movement & put her flanking the wounded Undead with Kaddim

    standard action: (my close burst 3 encounter power) cast 'Scorching Burst' (I think)

    minor action: activate 'Intelligent Blademaster' for +1 AC (or +3 if I free a hand) for this encounter

    free action: using 1h1m, "I KNEW this room would be trouble!..."

    done.

    I think you moved Candelos E instead of W. I think he wanted to be adjacent so he could mark everyone if he hit.

    I had it's powr confused with the Lucky Charm.

    No, I believe your off-hand is not usable while you are wearing a heavy shield.
