I've rolled initiative, just in case...

The current order is:
Quinn
Sonya
Thia
Candelos
Miri
Kaddim


Quinn's turn.
Candelos tells you that he's unable to open the door and that he heard what sounded like footsteps running to the east.

...don't forget the +2 initiative for Sonya being there.

Candelos
Free action: say "Quinn, charge and break down the door."

Waiting for Quinn's actions...

Any other suggestions on what actions he should take?

Can Candelos teleport to the other side of the door?
If the door wasn't there I could see the location but don't have line of sight because of the door?

Sorry, Teleportation in 4E requires line of sight and the door blocks it. You'd need armor like Miri which allows you to teleport through doors/walls.

Since Sonya and Thia delayed, it's my turn...


Kaddim sees a small flame in the mirror directly east of him. The flame gets larger and larger and appears to be a flaming skull. From the skull streaks a ball of fire and lands in the middle of the the doorway.

Since it ignores cover/concealment all PCs are affected.

Fireball attack vs Ref defense (1/2 damage on a miss):
vs Candelos 18 hit for 20hp of fire damage
vs Quinn 15 miss for 10hp of fire damage
vs Kaddim 29 hit for 20hp of fire damage
vs Sonya 23 hit for 20hp of fire damage
vs Thia 18 miss for 10hp of fire damage
vs Miri 21 miss for 10hp of fire damage

After the attack, Kaddim only sees a small flame in the mirror.

Candelos looks enraged and screams at the top of his lungs... The other party members have only been with him a short time, but have never seen him react like this in battle.

If for some reason Candelos does not take the free basic attack, I'll use "Lion's Roar" + 13 (minus cover) for 2d12+6 and spend one of my own healing surges on myself (15 hits back).

Minor Action, use Inspiring Word and Saving Inspiration on Candelos. He gets to use one of his healing surges but does not get the extra 2d6 hits, instead he gets to make a Saving Throw against the on-going fire damage.

Done...

Note: When Candelos attacked with the free attack it looked like he was swinging wildly. I rolled random and Sonya was the lucky recipiant.

Hmmm...Commander's Strike is against "One Target" of the Warlord's choice and in this case the "Target" is the Devil, not Sonya. From the WoTC thread (all 63 pages + of it) the reasoning is that I'm giving Candelos an opening to hit the Devil, not an opening to hit me. If Candelos is attacking me, then he is also not my "ally" and cannot benefit from Commander's Strike. If this needs to be moved to the RL topic, then I'll need some assistance...

If the ruling is firm that Sonya selected herself as the target and Candelos hit me, then I'll use Inspiring Word on myself as my minor action.

If the ruling is that I cannot use Commander's Strike with the Devil as the "Target" and Candelos as my ally, then my action will be as originally stated, I'll use Lion's Roar as my Standard Action. (reluctantly healing Candelos) and then healing myself with my minor action.

Your power is to give Candelos an attack on a specific target. If the Devil is using an interrupt power to make Candelos attack you then it should be allowed. However, if Candelos is Berserk or charmed and not in control of his actions at all then I agree that he would not gain any basic attack if he chooses not to use it on the Devil, which is what you commanded.

It seems Candelos wants to take his anger out on Sonya. She tries to give him an attack on the monster attacking him, but he doesn't take it. (I've added the 14hp back to Sonya).

Sonya, you still have a minor action. Did you still want to heal Candelos?

Oh, Candelos made his save vs the ongoing damage at the end of his turn. Kinda odd that he can get a save without being affected by the fire, but I get that happens when a turn is interrupted.

It appears I attempted to use my Standard Action to give Candelos an attack on the devil creature and that didn't work, thus using up my Standard Action, correct?

Dang, I went home before seeing all this. Is it too late to use the disruptive strike on the attack from the devil?

Since I delayed I will HQ the devil and twin strike.

Edit: I will also move back 5 squares to the corner after the attack.

Yes, your standard action was used on Candelos and you still have Lion's Roar.

Sonya is now at 57/61hp with 8/9 surges.

Ross, I think the doorway is only one square wide and Candelos is centered in that square. There are two diagonal squares to the devil but the western one is occupied by Sonya and the eastern one is occupied by Quinn.

You either have to wait for one of us to move out of the way; try to get behind the devil by teleporting, try to get behind the devil by moving to your front right, or I guess you can try to do something about the out of control Candelos...

I think I'll wait for a map, to see the whole picture.

Ross, the map from page 1 is still pretty good. The only changes are Sonya moved adjacent to Candelos and Miri & Thia moved back. The Devil is blocking the doorway and has someone right next to him.

He moves through the double doors east of Kaddim. He continues west, then charges south.

Hellsword #3 moves south down the corridor to the east, then charges Quinn.

Greatsword 24 vs AC hits for 8hp of normal damage and ongoing fire damage.

Quinn's turn...

Attack the one we have damaged already, reaping stike.

At the start of Quinn's turn he takes 5hp of fire damage.

Quinn uses Reaping Strike.

Note: the one you're swinging on has cover since the door north of you is still closed.

Reaping Strike 17-2 vs AC miss. The Hellsword takes 5hp of damage from the miss

At the end of Quinn's turn he makes his save vs the ongoing damage.

The smaller creatures take their turns

Creeper #1 moves throught the doors east of Kaddim, then charges
Dagger 21 vs AC miss

Creeper #2 is SE of Kaddim and takes a swing
Dagger 17 vs AC miss

Creeper #3 moves south down the east corridor and throws a dagger at Quinn
29 vs AC hits for 8hp of damage.


Sonya sees a flaming skull appear in the mirror to her SW, from it a firey ray appears and shoots out at her.
Fire Ray 22 vs Ref hits for 12 hp of damage.

However, you do always roll well against other PC's.

Actually, Candelos only rolled a 15 on the attack. Just think if he would have criticaled... or used an encounter/daily power.

Whoo Hoo! That's my personal best... 73 hits in a round! :-)

I will be going on vacation over the weekend and won't have access to the internets. Thia will continue to sit back towards the back of the hallway where she is now and attack the hellswords\creepers with HQ and Twin Strike.

...after Miri, it is Kaddim's turn, then the Hellswords.
