    If the PCs ever get any down time, I'd like to scribe a few scrolls and possibly make a wand...

    Magic item creation rules are pretty sketchy in 5e. Doesn't look like any special feat is needed. Just time, money, and possible special materials.

    Looks like a level 1 spell item takes 4 days.
    I believe a level 3 spell item takes 200 days.

    So I'll try to create a level 1 spell item first. (Wand of Magic Missiles)
    Then I'll try a level 3 spell item when time permits. (Wand of Melf's Minute Meteors) (basically each charge just casts the spell, similar to Wand of Fireballs)

    Yeah, item creation isn't very PC friendly in 5th edition...

    They have an option where multiple casters can work together (2 halves the time, 4 quarters it...)
