Kickstarter: Reaper Miniatures

I think Brad would like the Sophie figure for his campaign.

I actually went through quite a few of the figures for the non-Bones, already established lines and there were quite a few where I said "Wow! Brad would really like that for his PC/ Buffyverse game/ general cool "Brad" figure (e.g. mostly hot fantasy type women).

There are some really high quality figures here. The Dragon's Lair in Bellevue has a few hundred on the rack for sale but far from the entire line.

It really is a good buy. They just hit their 50k stretch goal so they just three in 4 more fighters. When they hit 70k they will add an option for 2 Giants for $10 more.
When it hits 90k they are adding 10 more undead minis.
The way the contributors are going it should easily hit the 90k stretch goal.

Stu have you ever tried painting any of those Polymer Resin models? They say you don't need to prime them and they polymer really takes the paint well.

Yes I have and yes they paint up pretty well.

This just got added to the lot due to the funding hitting $90k.

Free elves threshold has been met, and coming soon, free dwarves. This deal just keeps getting better. I have to resist buying the extras though.

13 stretch goals to go and 23 days left. Its been hitting an achievement an average of about one every day and a half, so it should be on pace to hit all of them.

I agree, I see some of the extras for only $10 more and it is really, really hard to resist. The dwarves look pretty cool and I really want the Frost Giants.

Stu, is the 185k stretch goal paints worth it for $18?

Definitely passing on the orcs. They are fine figures, but I don't like their look.

I have more paints than I could ever, ever, use. I think I have like 15 shades of blue and gray. I have a gloss and flat of nearly every common color and for the really common colors, I have two jars. If I were to ever run out, Kobe now has his very own set of paints (about 12 colors).

Yes, if you don't have many paints, current price is anywhere from $3.50 to $5.00 a jar; so the deal is worth it. Water based is cheaper, oil based are more expensive. If I just want a pretty good figure, I'll use water based. For a world class figure, I'll take my time and use oils.

Yeah, the orcs have good detail, but I'll pass on them. They look a bit too stiff and bulky with small heads. On my list is a group of giant class mosters to replace my small army of Heritage Orcs from the 1970's, but I'd paint up the 24 gnolls I already have before going with the Bone's Orcs.

These models wil be made in translucent plastic.
These Four models will be added to the Vampire and Undertaker pledge levels, but with a twist! These figures won't be made in our usual Bones Polymer, but a transparent orange! The Wall of fire, Flaming Sphere, Medium and large fire elementals will be an intimidating sight on any table!

When these 4 models are added, The Vampire pledge level will include 106 miniatures, before any options!

Brad, they're $1.99 each. You need some black paint. Yes, they look pretty cool. Ross, this was probably one of the best deals you have ever turned me onto - again, much thanks.

I'm not going to help you because they are all cool, well I don't like the Clockwork Dragon, but the rest are some of the best I've seen. Again, thanks Ross, this is a great deal.

The clockwork dragon is just a drawing right now. I bet it's going to look awesome once molded.

I'm never going to get all these figures painted in my lifetime. Maybe I can find some artists in China to do them cheap.

Only $48,000 and 43 hours to get these beauties.

I may not get all these beauties painted, but Kobe may in his lifetime. He's working on painting his second box of 25 mm Space Marines now.

The 12 front figures (orcs) in the Dungeon Attack Set.
The two figures from "Chronoscope" with assault weapons in the air.
The six "IMEF Marines", well not the girl with the huge gun so much.
The five "NOVA" troopers with the modern looking pulse rifles.
The wraith w Helm and raised sword in "Grave Danger" (mild interest)
The Ogre looking figure in the third row from the top of the "Vampire" display who's holding a long spear pointed roughly horizontal. (mild interest)

Okay, Wow!

So a nice feature about the bones line is that they are advertised as being practically indestructible.
At PAX the guy was saying this and I picked one up. He was telling everyone to throw it on the ground and stomp on it. Nobody was taking him up on it, so I did. I dropped it on the ground and stepped on it. No damage. So I then jumped on it. I picked it up and looked at it. No damage. Now this was unpainted though, so I'm fairly confident if you did something like that to a painted figure the paint may chip, but the figure it self will stay intact. Just another cool think about these figures we bought.

I'm glad we're not investing in the guy's ability to catch...he's not a martial artist.

Got my Reaper Minis yesterday. Inventoried all 282 and they were all there plus two additional. Now to figure out what to paint first.

Go figure, I get mine and what do I do, I end up painting two squads (that's 20 figures) of WH Space Marines!!! Yeah, not even the Reaper Mini's.

Sooo many good ones I wanna paint. Can't decide to paint PC's that look really cool, or do the Mickey Woo thing and paint a cool monster and then write the adventure around the monster.
