    Hellsword #2 (the one west of Kaddim) moves around into flanking position and swings on Kaddim.

    Greatsword 15 vs AC miss

    Hellsword #3 (the one to the south) shifts SW, then charges Thia. Miri gets an AoO.

    Miri's AoO 32 vs Ac (critical) hits for 13hp

    The Hellsword is able to attack Miri and Thia on his charge attack.

    Cool! But Miri's damage should be 1d8 for staff +5 Int +2 item bonus, for 15 hp damage on a critical, plus the staff of defense's power is an extra 2d8 (instead of 2d6). Miri should have done somewhere between 4 more to 18 more hp damage on her critical...

    Miri holds a longsword in her main hand and uses it for melee attacks. She holds a staff in her off-hand and uses it as an implement when casting spells. To use a Q-Staff as a weapon requires two hands, but only one hand to use it as an implement.

    Note:
    Miri was created before several rules/feats came out. At the time the only way to Int modifier for attack/damage was to multiclass to swordmage and take the Intelligent Bladmaster feat. Also, the rules also changed and now it is possible to wield two staves as implemnts.

    If I were creating Miri from scratch now I would modify her feats as follows.

    Feats:
    Wizard Ritual Caster
    Human Armor Prof (Leather)
    1st Reapers Touch
    2nd Armor Prof (Hide)
    4th Focused Expertise (Staff)
    6th Weapon Focus (Staff)
    8th White Lotus Riposte


    With these changes Miri would use Magic Missile through her implement as a melee basic attack and would be +12 vs Ref 2d4+10 damage in melee and ranged attacks if wielding a Staff of Ruin +2/Staff of Defense +1.

    That doesn't make sense to me... I was planning on Miri only doing this after she's used her shield spell & staff of defense power to get the sword warding ability (as she did in the CL pit). After 11th, when she goes 'Wizard of the Spiral Tower', she plans on dropping the staff altogether, upgrade to a magical longsword, & just wield a longsword. Until then, why would she ever weild both as a norm?

    "Intelligent Blademaster", while having 'blade' in the title, only says:

    Intelligent Blademaster
    Tier: Heroic
    Prerequisites: Swordmage
    You can use your Intelligence modifier (+5) instead of your Strength modifier (+1) when making a basic attack with a melee weapon.

    Miri can use her Int for both weapons, both do 1d8, she gives up +1 to hit (because the proficiency bonus differences are +2 or +3), but gains +2 to hit for magic staff netting an extra +1 to hit. She also gets a +2 magic weapon bonus to damage with the staff. Net result: same basic weapon damage, more bonus to hit and more bonus to damage, plus the bonus of +2d8 when critical hit... at the very least, please consider Miri's sword sheathed in the future unless I post otherwise and all future AoO to be with the staff. (Unless I'm missing something?)

    I like the longsword/Swordmage build, especially for when she's 11th. But why go the 'Reaper's Touch' route with Miri? Magic Missles do 2d4+Int and her longsword or staff does 1d8+Int. That's only a half a hit point different on average for the cost of a whole feat since she already has 'Intelligent Blademaster', and that half hit point damage only applies when she's in melee. Plus, she loses her +3 proficiency bonus to attack rolls using her LS as a weapon vs impliment. I love that feat for most squishies, but I don't see it's advantages for Miri.

    I strike + 13 (-2 for cover + 11) vs. AC 1d12+6.
    Creeper can then strike at me (if it is still up) w combat advantage (AC 25+2 for cover = 27).
    If Creeper strikes at me, Quinn strikes at it with combat advantage with a basic attack.

    Thia will use her Serpentskin armor as a move action to shift three squares north.

    Keep HQ on the bloodied one and use Biting Volley to try and take him down. If one of them misses, use elven reroll to try and hit.

    Biting Volley
    Attack: Dexterity vs. Reflex, two attacks. Each
    attack can score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.
    Hit: 1[W] + Dexterity modifier (+5) damage per
    attack.
    Prime Shot Greatbow +2: +13 attack, 1d12+10
    damage

    To Sonya: If Miri and I can stay away from him we should be fine but if he does to one of us what they did to Candelos we might be in trouble.

    Hmm...I guess the question is, the "cover" is in the way so does it have a chance to get hit? The rules are not clear on this. I say that if the miss is due to the cover, then in the spirit of 4.0 simplification, there is no chance to hit anything else.

    If others disagree and there is a chance to hit the cover, I think there would be a second (separate) attack roll. Discuss...

    I didn't see any rules for hitting cover like in 3.5 so for now, there's no chance to hit cover.

    Miri's turn:

    Standard: Bigby's Icy Grasp on the Hellsword to the south
    Bigby 28 vs Ref hits for 12hp of cold damage.

    Kaddim's turn:
    Kaddim shifts south and uses Swordburst on the three enemies in range.
    Hellsword 14 vs Ref miss
    Creeper 32 vs Ref hits for 12hp of damage
    Creeper #1 27 vs Ref hits for 12hp of damage

    Both creepers are bloodied and the one to the south looks to be near death.

    Hellsword's turn:
    Hellsword #2 shifts and swings on Kaddim
    Greatsword 15 vs AC miss

    Hellsword being grabbed by Miri's power tries to escape
    Athletics check vs Miri's Fort 29 success.
    He uses his standard action to move (fly) to the east out of sight.

    David, I don't think you can shift to the NW, since the door is closed, Candelos (a non-ally) is blocking the way. You either have to:

    Attack Candelos or
    Open the door (a minor action if unlocked, a standard action if locked) and then shift diaganolly and attack or
    Open the stuck door (a standard action) and then just shift w no attack (unless you use an AP) or
    Bull Rush Candelos out of the way...
    Ken, correct me if I'm wrong.

    Correct.

    You can't shift or move diagonally around a corner. Since the door is closed and Candelos is currently not considered an ally, you have to open the door or somehow puch Candelos out of the way to go north.

    At the beginning of Quinn's turn he takes 5hp of ongoing fire damage

    Standard Action: Break down the door (Str check DC20) 12+9=21 success.
    Note: You can't Bull Rush a door. Bull Rush only works on enemies.


    Quinn has a move and minor action remaining.

    Effect - Quinn uses one of his own surges and gains an addition 5 points back.
    Minor Action - Use Shake It Off, to give Quinn a save vs. on going damage with a + 5 bonus to the roll.
    Free Action - say "Should I take the time to break the mirror to my left?"

    Sonya moves around Quinn and uses Lion's Roar on the Creeper.

    Quinn uses a healing surge and gets back 18hp (maybe an additional 5, we'll see)



    Note:
    Does Sonya have Tactical Presence or Inspiring Presence?

    Lion's Roar states that warlords with Inspiring Presence provide a Char mod bonus to the healing surge. Sonya is listed as Tactical presence in the Character Builder under class.

    Oh... Forgot to mention, when Sonya kills the Creeper he exploses in a burst (1) of blinding light. Candelos, Kaddim, Quinn, and Sonya are blinded (save ends).

    I've added 5hp to Quinn for Sonya being an Inspiring Warlord.

    Quinn gets a new save from Sonya and rolls 4+5=9 failure.

    Sonya is blinded by the exploding Creeper and at the end of her turn she rolls a 19 and is no longer blinded.



    Thia's turn
    Standard Twin Strike on the Creeper to the north.
    TS #1 18-2 vs AC miss
    TS #2 33-2 vs AC critical hit for 17+10+8HQ (the Creeper falls and explodes in a flash of bright light). I believe Kaddim is affected twice and would have to make two saves to regain his sight.

    Unless someone disagrees, I think he should sword burst since that is a burst. Then obviously save for the blind(s).

    That's right... he left for Cali today. I'd also have him shift 1 square W, so Quinn can charge it.

    Kaddim shifts west and uses sword burst (which ignores concealment)
    Swordburst 30 vs Ref hits for 13hp of force damage.

    At the end of Kaddim's turn he rolls 14 ends the fist blindness, but rolls 4 vs the second blindness effect. Kaddim is still blinded.

    Hellswords turn:
    Hellsword #2 thanks Kaddim for getting out of the way and charges south.

    No AoO from Kaddim since he's blinded.

    When a Hellsword charges he can make an attack against all in his reach.
    Greatsword vs Kaddim 28 vs AC hit for 14hp
    Greatsword vs Candelos 23+2(CA from blind) vs AC hits for 13hp
    Greatsword vs Quinn 26+2 (CA from blind) vs AC hits for 7hp
    Greatsword vs Sonya 30-2 (cover) (critical) vs AC hits for 15hp
