4.0 vs 5.0 Offer of 5.0 Materials from Wizards

So, current Westron Citizens...

One of the TKD players has connections to Wizards of the Coast and would be able to obtain promotional D&D 5.0 materials for free for our group to try out. Hmmmm...

I'm not sure. We've invested a significant amount in 4.0 and I do like 4.0 more than all the prior versions we've played. Character generation is faster, character classes are more balanced, individual characters are more balanced, and under the right conditions - game play can be very rapid and exciting. At first I thought 4.0 was an over simplification, but I've found it allows the DM to expand his/ her efforts in other areas.

So, what do YOU ALL think, should we give 5.0 a try and under what conditions? Should we switch one or all of our existing series; Star Gate, Slave Ship, Buffyverse, or should we try 5.0 in isolation - if we even decide to try it.

I realize I am new to the group, so my vote won't and shouldn't count as much as everyone else's, but for what it's worth I would definitely like for us to try 5.0.

Until they come out with online tools for 5th edition, I'd like to stay with 4th.

I'm with Ken, the online tools make visualizing paths and combinations much easier.

I'm always up for trying new editions.
No rule that says we can't have some campaigns in 5e and some in 4e.

I say we start a 5e campaign from scratch. Stu, maybe you could run the new campaign in 5e. That way all the TKD players wouldn't need access to the 4e character builder.

Rino - have a DMG and MM in 5.o for Ross? He's laid up at home, for quite a long time. Maybe he can make the first 5.0 series... He already has a PHB.
