WAR! The Hammer and Cross Mission

After returning from the succesful raid on the Royalist Dock complex, MC Turco gives SF Black its next mission.

To Cederick, “SF Black will proceed to the nearby town of Matteral. This is our current forward logistics area and Quartermaster SC Incyrus is set up in a fortified warehouse there. Send a member of your team to draw equipment and then meet the scout, Cagvree from SF Green, that will be attached to your team for a portion of your mission. Cagvree will support your team’s penetration of Royalist lines to a bridge over Badger Creek here. (Turco points on a map behind him, Cederick notes that it is about 2 miles behind enemy lines.) There Cagvree will set up an OP (observation post) and monitor Royalist traffic at the bridge. The OP will also serve as your team’s final rally point should you become separated during the mission. SF Black will then proceed up Badger Creek to Renegade Marsh here (Turco points on the same map and Cederick notes that it is about 2 additional miles) where your team will link up with Hephestus, a defector who must make it back to our lines safely. Hephestus will be at the small hill on the north side of the marsh at mid-day three days from now. Your primary mission is to make the link up and then escort Hephestus safely back to our lines. The challenge for this mission is “Spike” and the password is “Bloody”. The trouble password is “Faith”. Upon the completion of your mission, return with Hephestus to Matteral and report to SC Incyrus. Any questions? Free trade for free men, and may the gods go with you.”


The teams travels within Rebel territory and safely arrives at Matteral. It is then that the adventure will begin.

So, essentially, our mission this weekend is to find Hephestus and return with him... is that it?

Yep, that is the team's primary mission. Other secondary missions may present themselves.

Epiloge: After the mission is over and SF Black is in the town of Matteral, as a result of Hayden's negotiations during the adventure, each of you (Hunter, Walster, Hayden, Kara, Kebru) is contacted separately by an agent of the House of Swords. Each of you is offered a one time deal, the House of Swords will make you a magic item(see stipulations) of 7th level or lower for only 75% of the book price. The item must be a weapon (any sort), metalic armor, metalic shield, bracers, gauntlets, arm bands, or 9 pieces of ammunition (arrows or cross bow bolts only). You may not purchase two lower level items that add up to a 7th level item, you may only purchase one item (or 9 pieces of ammunition). If you have some unwanted items (of any type), that you would like to "trade in" as part of the deal, the HoS will give you 50% of book for your old items rather than the usual 20%.

For the deal to be valid, you must post here by 8 February what you gave and what you had them make for you.

Is this offer available to PCs not on the Jan 29 adventure?

If one of the PC's that did go tell you about it and if you can get someone (either Kara or Hayden) to negotiate on your behalf then the deal could be made available to others, but as it was roll played out last night during the game, the deal is only available to the PC's who gave thier full names to the merchant of the House of Swords.
