Cool, hopefully it will be as good or better than MapTools.

I think the movement will be better, but it doesn't have token controls, but it does have player controlled dice rolling.

Anyone else have a DDI Subscription. I might have an opportunity to send out beta invites.

Was thinking of getting my own subscription. ~$70 for a year isn't too bad.

Maybe it'll be a XMas present to myself...

The way I look at it is that I have all the book information, magic items, monsters, classes, powers, at my disposal all in a web browser. I don't have to carry the books around and I can search and find things easily.

Currently not a fan of the new Character Builder.

But don't have much of a choice if I want to keep up to date with the latest material.

The more I use it the more I like it. I haven't had a crash since that first day, which might have been due to the heavy traffic during the release.

Based on what they have said in their press releases they are going to have user friendly mobile versions as well.

Oh and extracts should happen with the next version they release. So Iplay4e should be usable with it again.

So far I've been able to create statistics for PC's and Monsters directly into the Virtual Table. They have an import and export feature listed, but it doesn't work, so I assume that will be for uploading existing files without data entering.
They have a whole bunch of different tiles built in so you can create maps. They even have a 30x21 square temple tile that's pretty cool. Lots of smaller tiles as well for things like doors, tables, pits, statues, levers, etc, so you can customize your dungeon to look very cool.
They do have Dice roll you can roll and their results show up in the online chat area.
It has a built in Voice Chat.
Built in Initiative roller and turn tracking.
Pointer mode where a little hand with a pointed finger appears so you can move it around and point to things of note on the map and other people can see what your pointing at.
Freehand drawing is allowed on the map as well, so you can add quick details.
Looks like it has a fog of war, but it's not automatic. You have to reveal it manually.
It has a line of site line that you can use to see if someone can see into a specific square. You can even choose the corner of the square to use as the spot point.

It opens in Java when the DM Runs it. I'm not sure how it works as a player though, but I suspect it's the same, so I'm guessing people can't use it at work.
