DracoFang quest

King Komodo & Queen Monatore worked through the night and well into the next day healing citizens from the day’s battle (as I assume did Reptis, Deslocke, and any other PCs that can heal). Outside the city lie the remains of many fallen Dragons, but as of now, almost all the Dragons have left the city, with only the smallest of Dragons about. Faith in the survival of the new Dragonborn kingdom is shaky at best.

Queen Monatore discreetly summons all the PCs to her audience chamber…

“Friends,

We no longer enjoy the benefits of the truce between the Dragons and the Dragonborns, and without it, it is unclear where our treaty with the Orcs & Human Horse lords stand. Furthermore, Jafar will surely try again to take the throne, and he’ll be deadlier than ever now that he’s teamed up with Ember, the elder Red Dragon. Also, the Dragon portal is a looming danger and being of divine origin, can only be dismantled with divine help. Many threats loom large for our new Kingdom.

But, all is not lost. Jafar did not anticipate you discovering his plans & thwarting his ritual, and without the ancient Dragons, the other Dragons seem to no longer be working together, as Dragons normally don’t. Nor did he expect you all to help Komodo & I fend off Jafar & Ember when they tried to attack us to take our throne.

And, I’ve discovered a possible resting place of DracoFang, a divine relic said to be forged from one of the first ancient Dragons to walk the Earth. With it, we can dismantle the Dragon portal. Furthermore, it’s not far from here…

It is, however, deep within the Orc lands and I cannot send my royal garrison to recover it, since I need them to protect our borders, calm the citizens, and also because it would be an overt breach of treaty to send them into Orc lands. We can’t afford to invite an Orc army to invade our borders at this key juncture.

Also, Jafar will anticipate my seeking DracoFang and will stop at nothing to intercept it if he knew a party was searching for it. (Handing Deslocke a map and picture of DracoFang), I need you all to find a discreet way out of the city so Jafar’s spies won’t tip him off to your trail, journey through the Orc lands without getting killed or provoking war between Orcs & Dragonborns, find the relic DracoFang and bring it back here safe from Jafar & his minions, and help me use it to dismantle the Dragon portal once and for all to help restore confidence among our citizens that we are safe from further Dragon threats.

Speed is of the essence, lest we give Jafar time to discover DracoFang’s resting place and recover it first. Friends, I hope I can count on you all on this critical and dangerous mission. Can we count on you once again?”

I hope we have a plan beyond "we leave during nighttime" on how you're going to embark on this mission. The difficulty of the mission may be affected. Are we ready for this Sat?

Yeah... This weekend's adventure might be pretty tough... :-(

I will tell the queen we will pretend we are fed up with working for them and complain publicly (in a tavern) about it. We'll have an argument with each other about how dangerous it is, and how this wasn't what we signed up for. Final statements will be that we come to an agreement that none of this is our problem and and state we are leaving to head home to Corona Keep.

Since Corona is in the direction of the Orcs we can head towards there without fear of our cover being blown. We will all say goodbyes to any friends we might have made and tell them to look us up if they are around Corona Keep. That should be a fairly convincing reason why we are leaving, and should remove any suspicions about us.

If your PC only went on one day of the adventure you have to pay in the 1 Day cost.
If your PC went both days then you only have to pay the 2 Days cost.
If the number is a negative you get that much gold pieces back.
If you take gold you will get 4,567gps if you went on 1 Day, or 9,133gps if you went on 2 Days.

I think it'll be better to do away with exp awards. That way everyone can play at the same level. We played 2x at 12th, so next adventure I'll write for 13th. I think we'll advance 2 times every 3 sessions. Even levels we'll play 2x, odd levels we'll play 1x. How does that sound

Brad, it was a great adventure or at least the half I went on.

We got thru all 3 encounters in a little over 6 hrs. likely would have been faster if there wasn't so much stunning, dazing, teleporting and turn invisible by the monsters.

The encounters were challanging except the CR23 dracolich. with 4 PCs we were only able to acomplish the mission. with 6 PCs we could have gotten a lot more treasure or even killed again the dracolich and gotten all it's treasure.

I look forward to the next installment.

I will take the black Celestial Charger.

If Nevin takes the Black Charger between me and Trevor the White will be spoken for since Ken (Freeza) just wants gold.

Crap! I can't find the post where I named them. I might have written them down in my papers too... I'll check. I think the white one was Fairfax, and the black one was Shadowdale. Anyone else remember? (Or can find the post?)

I remember Shadowfax for the white one since wasn't that The White Wizard's (aka Gandalf the white) horse name from Tolkin? I bet you have it written down somewhere.
