After escaping the dungeons of one of the noble drow houses by a gnome and kobald blasting a hole in the wall, our heroes find themselves at the base of the Tower of the Spider Queen. Enzio finds and disables a guarding ward and advance up to a large iron door. Enzio quickly opens the door and dispath the two guards before they can flee up the stairway. Led by Maki the deva, the group moves up the stair and inform the drow guards that they are on official business and need to see the drow leader. The guards wave the group by and up the stairs. There, the group finds a number of living quarters and they bar those doors, and quickly gain access to the library and find a few books of interest. Beyond the library, they locate the quarters of the drow leader but only fight her illusionary image and her pet spider which Soldun slices in two with his artifact axe. Returning to the landing room, the heroes battle a force of guards and priestesses with Matar downing three, Enzio and Mantis one each and Enzio also taking down the drow fighters. Moving further up the tower, Enzio scouts out a room full of webs and the party decides to bar that door and move back down stairs. There they find that the gaming room empty as well as the kitchen and a cloak room.

Beyond the cloak room, they burst in and in an epic battle, defeat a force of drow priestesses, four guards an archmage and an animated floor monster. Enzio rapidly sneak attacks and pins down the arch mage, slashing and stabbing, not giving him a chance to unleash his Arachnid Blast (8d8 necrotic and poison damage and weakness). Matar downs the double bladed elite soldier and later the elite sword master. Three of the five priestesses blast the area of the doorway, inflicting black magic on all the heroes near the door as long as the guard blocking the door can hold his position. Mantis takes down the elite falchion wielder and moves into the room, and then moves to take down two of the priestesses and then eats their heads! Alyce is harassed by the guards and is driven in between two pillars where the floor suddenly animates and tries to suffocate her! Thinking quickly, Soldun uses telekinesis and plants his battle standard to pin down the animated floor monster which lashes out at the couple heroes who come too close but is basically out of the battle. Maki takes down one guard and Alyce takes down another. Matar takes down a priestess and then combines with Soldun to take down a second. Enzio, after finishing off the arch mage, rotates over and takes down one of the priestesses, concluding the fight.

The group then returns upstairs and tries to set the webs on fire, but the webs are magically protected. They then have Enzio speed in, locate and grap the egg, and then close the hatch before the drider and follow. Returning to the altar room, the group then plane shifts to the domain of an avatar of the Spider Queen herself! Using all their resources and striking quickly, the heroes combine to dispel her form, with Mantis striking the killing blow, and with the blessing of the drow goddess of moonlight, return to the material plane near the city of Istivin.
