Hey, I just figured out that this is Veteran's Day. I have to work but others may have the day off. Also, there's no school that day and the TKD school is also closed so we can start the game as soon as you guys want when I get off of work (e.g. my normal leave the office time is 2 PM).

Newport Hills - Don't bring any drinks, I have plenty.

Who do we have?
Brad - DM Buffyverse
Stuart
Ross
Mick

I'll be there.

I'll be coming from work (Bellevue) about 5ish.

View user profile
I'll be there 6:30 to 7:00

I'm available earlier in the afternoon too if that works, or after dinner-ish is also good.

View user profile
I'm 80%, I get off at 3 PM.

Okay, we got Mick, Ross, Ken, Jeff and Stuart as players. Brad as DM. Brad spend a lot of time yesterday designing and laying out the maps for the first two encounters. They are safely protected under the clear plastic grid on the gaming table and I must say, Brad did a pretty good job.

Brad also spent some time in getting the initiative cards for the entire adventure ready. He made use of my (expansive) paper library of books. I must say, this is probably the best prepared I've seen him for an adventure.

Yeah Ross, those urban tiles you gave me turned out pretty cool. One problem though, they were about 1mm smaller grids than Stu's table, but it still looks pretty awesome. Can't wait until Fri to try it out!

Did you print them with the grids or without them?

Yes, with grids.

If you were going to place them under the Table Plexiglass, that has grids already, you should have chosen to print them without grids.

We originally tried just putting the road sections on top of the clear plexiglass as it was thought that the weight of the heavy paper might be enough to keep them from moving around during game play. However, as it became obvious that knocking the corner of one could disrupt the surrounding road sections, we tried putting them under the plexiglass which worked much better. It was then that the mis-match in squares was discovered. Could do it all again, but to cut a page of heavy paper stock with a razor and to print each section probably took two of us more than an hour. We'd have to do it all again but this time w/o the grids.

I think you'll like it as is. The full color road sections do look pretty cool and the modular nature of the map allows them to be reused for many future Buffyverse encounters.

Lets say 5:30 then. I'll provide drinks and steamed white rice. I'll grill up either Korean Ribs or burgers.

If people want to volunteer to bring; potato salad, some kind of pie/cake desert, cookies/ snacks, other stuff...that's cool.

Should we see if Scott and Damon want to try playing?

It could hurt to ask.
If any thing, they may want to come over and watch. We can have some PC ready for them.

View user profile
13th Level is pretty high, lots of choices...if they want to come over and hang out, thats cool but 13th might be a bit much, thoughts?

View user profile
Shouldn't be that difficult for them to pick up...

Most 13th level PC have 4-6 encounter type powers and 2-4 daily powers.

The biggest effort is in building the PC which they'd do ahead of time (hopefully...).

Concur. It's not as if they're total noobs, just haven't played 4.0 much.

Mick's post seemed to imply he'd be willing to make one up for them... Smile

Anyone heard from Trevor, and is everyone's magic item wishlists updated?

I think if they we were sent the PCs a few days in advance, I don't think they would have much trouble. Scott would have his PC memorized.

Mick's post seemed to imply he'd be willing to make one up for them...
No problem. I have Damon Paladin made at 12th. It won't take much to made him 13th.
I'd have to make Scott's from scratch.

Sweet! And here I was thinking I was being obnoxious volunteering you! I hope they can make it...

I'm okay with volunteering Mickey to make characters for Scott and Damon and giving Mickey the action to call them to see what they're doing on Friday.

I'm not planning on calling him. If Ross or I see Damon or Scott on BF3 we'll ask them if they are interested.
I would guess there's only a 25% chance of them coming.

Most of the choices revolve around building the character. If you ask what types of characters they like to play I am sure we could build something decent in a half hour or so with general guidelines from them.

Edit: Guess it would help to read the posts above mine. Didn't see the second page.

I should be able to attend. I've been doing ok health-wise lately.

Mick, did you ask Damon last night?

Apparently Scott really likes Warlocks.

Awesome! What started out as possibly going to be a small party might turn into a big one. Very Happy
