    So I still need to grab Ashe and throw him down, right.
    I believe this will work:
    Free: Shroud a policeman I can see.
    Minor: Grab Ashe
    Standard: Pull Ashe to the hole.
    Free: Drop Ashe down the Sewer.
    Move: Grab any of Ashe's items in the square he was in & hide as part of that move action.
    Free: Drop Ashe's items into the sewer, preferably sharp side up if it's a bladed or piercing weapon.

    Blade grabs Ashe and drags him to the tunnel and he take (wow) 3d6=5 falling damage. Since sm shields are usually strapped to the arm we'll say that went with him.

    Telgarth's ready action kicks in and drags the prone Ashe into his square.

    Blade then grabs Ashe sword drops it down too, but...

    You need total concealment, a distraction, or something else (as well as a move action) to make a hide check, I believe... You only have cover and direct observation.

    As a note cause it doesn't affect Blade but it certainly could help him. The sunrod is down the hole, Telgarth and his sunsword is down the hole and when Ashe dropped unconscious his sunsword went dark. There should be no more light in the tunnel except maybe a little bit from down below.

    Ah, okay. Thanks.

    I know it's a minor action to Drop Prone, but how about if you let go of a ladder and just fall? I can see that being a free action seeing as you can let go of an item to let it fall to the ground.

    If I can during my turn I'll fall, and use acrobatics to try to land softly.

    Prone: You fall prone when you land, unless you take no damage from the fall.

    Ember drops her staff & grabs Aura and drags & drops her down the tunnel, and she must have been VERY gently dropped, taking only 2 hits. Ember then jumps down and would have taken 12 hits (inflicting 13, capped at 12 on Aura), but uses Firedeath to only take 2 hits, capping Aura's damage at 2 as well.

    Because of Ember's orders to arm the traps, most only do 2x moves to you, only sending 1 scout ahead to do a 2x run...

    Top of the order...

    note on map, most of the tokens are in the same squares, you can go N or S along the tunnel.

    Move: take out healing potion
    Standard: feed the potion to Aura

    That's right, Aura saved v death, failed save v daze, Ashe saved v both, Angelus feeds Aura a potion and she's now up with 10 hits.

    "does that move her to my square?" Why does the tail end of this encounter have so many complicated rule issues?!? :-( I'm going to say yes, she'd be in your square if you like. Her initiative doesn't change, right?

    Correct, her initiative wouldn't change. She rolled saves on her turn.

    Normally when you pick things up they're now in your square. Just wanted to make sure it held true for picking up an unconscious PC.

    I'm leaving for a meeting and will be gone the rest of the afternoon, so I'm going to post early.

    It's Blades turn. I'm assuming he will be help Ashe and his sword get out of here.
    move: stand
    minor: put on the cloak she's been carrying around.
    standard: Orbmaster's Incendiary Detonation 1 space above the trap door to the tunnel. I assume I can have it do non-lethal damage. It looks like it hits only one cop but has good special effects to make the cops think twice about pursuing.

    Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
    Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier (+6) force damage, and you knock the target prone.
    Effect: The burst creates a zone of licking flames that lasts
    until the end of your next turn. Each enemy that enters the
    zone or starts its turn there takes 2 fire damage.

    free action: say loudly "It looks like they've set off one of the three traps already!"

    Ashe is now conscious thanks to Telgarth giving him a potion so he can take care of himself.
    As a minor I'll grab Ashe's sword, so he doesn't have to.
    Is there water in this sewer? If so, which way is it heading? I'll go that direction as a move and a move.

    Telgarth feeds Ashe a potion and with a psychic power sees the scout who ran up and 24 v AC would have missed if not for his running, 17 hits. He's not quite bloodied.

    Ember stands under the sewer entrance and 15 v ref, again would have missed, except for he ran. He takes 19 hits, is very bloodied and knocked prone.

    "You know what they did at Casino Mui, and to that little girl upstairs. We are bringing them to justice!"

    Scout gets up & falls back.

    Most do single move forward & ready an action (proceding cautiously thanks to Ember).

    5 move to sewer entrance and open fire on Ember (the only target)...

    1 special recharges and 30vAC hit for 15=daze
    2 shoots regular 14 near fumble miss
    3 special 20 mis
    4 special 31 hit for 12+daze
    5 shoots 21 miss.

    Top of the order...

    Aura 10/58 10/12 bloodied, prone
    Ashe 10/58 10/13 bloodied, prone
    Angelus 17/59 9/13 bloodied
    Telgarth 33/64 9/12 NOT regerating
    Blade 22/50 10/11 bloodied
    Ember 0/50 10/11 dying, dazed

    Note: Telgarth/Ashe, Angelus/Aura are in the same squares in the tunnel. I moved them to the E/W of where they are so I can see the tokens...

    You're all in a 8' diameter tube heading N/S, so there's nothing to your E/W. 70' to the N of the entrance is an intersection (near Blade) and 15' S of the entrance is another intersection. I tried to draw them on the map, but it came out a little thin.

    Some of the PC's tokens are to the side of the actual tunnel (E or W) to show both tokens. Otherwise, half the tokens would be hidden.


    Giles is usually back well before sunset, so will 'probably' return sometime just after this is all over... Remember, they came an hour before sunset, which is pretty unusual for Vampires.

    Aren't Tegarth, Aura, Ashe and Angelus in adjacent squares? The cops don't see them?

    Only clear target. The others are around 2 corners because of the 12' vertical tunnel.

    Plus they just saw the scout move up there and boom as far as they know set off a trap.
    Why would 5 more cops move up there and possibly set off another trap.
    These are not stupid monsters, these are people with families and lives, not suicidal.

    Give me a break. It did slow down most of the baddies, every PC has risked some damage in pursuit of a monster, and none of you are Orcs. Please... These cops think they're in pursuit of occultist mass murderers. They think you murdered several dozen people just for the fun of it, (or for some 'black magic' ritual). They are willing to take some risks to apprehend you.

    So you really think a guy making 40k a year would be willing to basically run through a mine field to apprehend someone?
    Cops won't go into a house when some one possibly has a gun. Cops won't even go into a house alone during a domestic dispute. Cops waited outside a house for 5-hours once and the suspect wasn't even inside. These are from actual news reports and procedure manuals.

    So don't try to tell me they would charge through a suspected trap area, where they actually saw a big explosion go off, and saw one of their own injured.

    Anecdotal. I can cite plenty of examples of blindly following pretty crazy orders too, and on top of that, this is D&D, not the real world. They have mid 40s in hit points. Let's remember that these guys going into the line of fire of a gun (etc) is NOT as dangerous as it would be for a real cop in the real world. And the cop they saw took the full blast of the flame, not just the lingering after flames, & he was able to get up & run away (which he did... he was NOT suicidal) ...and that was after he was sliced by an animated broadsword. Yes, that almost killed him (in total), but the rest have every reason to suspect the after flames is not as dangerous as the initial blast. On top of that, it DID change their approach...

    I assume she would be unconscious but does she have to make death rolls?

    In 3.5, no death rolls and auto gets up in 20 rounds, but I'm pretty sure in 4.0 0 is the same as -x.

    A dying creature is unconscious and must make death saving throws. Monsters normally die when they drop to 0 hit points, so they suffer this condition only in exceptional situations.

    Free: We need to kill the lights. I'm slowing everyone down cause I'm hurt, if you can take care of Ember I will get as far south as I can.

    Move: Stand in an open square not directly under the ladder.

    Aura looks around to get a grasp on the situation. "Well this is officially the worst place I've ever woken up". After seeing Ember down, and hearing the troops and flames above, "We are gonna need something big to stop them, or at least slow them down enough to get out of here."

    Standard: Perception check (or maybe dungeoneering?) Aura looks around the sewer to find the utility lines running through it, specifically the gas line.

    Perception skill is 16. Dungeoneering skill is 9.

    If check is successful and she finds it, free action to point at it and say, "We need to hack a hole in this pipe, then run. Fast."


    OOC: I think you can see where this is going. Try to focus on getting everyone up and running.

    Let's resolve this in a couple hours. Angelus is standing in your square, so to stand you'd have to take a free shift N into Ember's square (which is legal since prone), or S.
