    casino II Empty casino II

Post by Kenji Wed Dec 15, 2010 11:03 pm

(First of all, "Crap, crap, crap!" I was hoping to split the party expecting some of you to go in right away, with others staggering in later...)

As the party approaches the casino again at 2am (assuming stealthily), you notice a large semi truck pulling out full of used cars, a fairly empty parking lot, and another semi being loaded up with cars. There are 6 Teiflings loading cars, and 4 Goliath bouncers outside the main doors, which are closed, and no one else outside the casino (neither in or out).

Investigating the freeway exit leading to this casino, you see traffic being detoured away by 2 cop cars and a burning car.

Going around back to the parking garage (where the elevator entrance to the main gaming floor and the service entrance door is) you notice every single car parked there has very dark tinted windows and no one or nothing else.

Let me know what everyone wants to do next: front door (now or after the Teiflings leave) or the service entrance? Something else?...

Hmm, it sounds like the party is already getting started.

I'd like to check out the service entrance first.

Likely no one is entering the casino because they have enough bodys to suck.
If all the car in the garage have tinted glass, that must be the vamp enterance.
How many tinted cars do we see? that may give us a idea of how many vamps are inside.

Well, AT 2:00am, yes. The "...to 4 am" part you don't know, since that time hasn't happened yet.

Going around back, avoiding notice by the Tieflings and bouncers out front, the Slayers go to the parking levels and see 15 cars with dark tinted windows (all parked away from where the morning sun rises), the elevator, and the service entrance. (both closed.) There are no people or activity going on here.

How sturdy do the door look?
Can we hear music or other noises from inside?

I think we should slash the tires of the tinted window cars. Does it look like anyone is in the cars? We can't see in, but is there any music playing, movement from inside, or any other signs that a driver may still be inside.

Going to be fun that's for sure. Does anyone appear to be near the cars with tinted windows? How many surveillance cameras are there on the cars? Could we get close enough to them without arousing suspicion?

We could create a diversion by lighting a few fires in the cars down here and then heading back upstairs to go in the service entrance and/or the front entrance.

At some point the hired help will probably disperse once they get rid of the cars of the victims. I would hazard a guess that they are not so alive anymore so I don't mind burning the place down.

quick investigation of the tinted cars - are any of them occupied(assume they are until are checked)? Are they locked? Are the keys in any of them? Weapons? Might be smart to check.

Also note the license plates, registration if we can get at.

Both are metal, but exactly as you'd expect an elevator door & deliveries entrance to look like. You don't notice any extra fortifications. (Ember gathered this intel the first time, before she went in... everything looks the same as then, except less cars and they didn't all have tinted windows last time.)

I'm assuming you are observing from a distance, but if everyone's really quiet, you can hear the feint din of a base beat from loud music coming from inside.

PCs: As this new info might change the original plans, please give me an update on what your PC is wearing, and what items you're carrying or have on you, and how you approach the casino.

Krystoff wrote:Going to be fun that's for sure. Does anyone appear to be near the cars with tinted windows? How many surveillance cameras are there on the cars? Could we get close enough to them without arousing suspicion.

You don't see anyone near the cars. You also don't see any movement in the cars, but it's night, the tint is pretty dark, so you are not sure about inside each car from your observation point. Yes, there are surveillance cameras. They are pointed at the various parking spaces and the driveway into the parking lot. They look to be positioned to put patrons at ease against being mugged in the parking lot more than anything else. Those of you trained in stealth think it's possible to avoid all the cameras, but not a given (i.e., might depend on how well your stealth rolls are)

You'll need to go in and be much closer to know any of that, and could conflict with avoiding cameras...

Well I don't think we want to take the elevator, they could easily shut it down and we'll be trapped inside.

I think our best shot may be to sneak up to and break into the service entrance.

I think we should try have Blade & Ember walk up to the elevator.
With a coven emblem on Blade that should get us in.
Blade can tell the bouncers he's bring in this sweet tasting thing (Ember)in for the party.
Ember will allow Blade to put a set on bite marks on her neck but "NO SUCKING!" to make it look convincing.

If we get in, we can work our way to open the service door.

1 hp minimum damage to leave a somewhat convincing scar... (more if Blade gets a little carried away).

Everyone else stays back for now, Blade & Ember walk up to the elevator and hit the button. After about 45 secs, the light turns off. You try it a couple times but nothing else happens.

stealth 9+10=19 you think you're stayed out of view of cameras & possible onlookers. Streetwise is the new gather info, so doesn't apply unless you can talk to cars... They are locked and unoccupied. We'll say you've written down most of the plates.

No. No. Ember's str ck 1+6=7, fail, Blade 15+5=20 success. The little lady needed a man to help her. Laughing

You pry open the door on the 1st try and you see wall, just as the rest of the side of the building. (Ember rode the elevator earlier)

Well if the elevator has been bricked up and we can't get in through the service entrance, then we don't have much of a choice. We'll have to go through the front and take out as many as we can.

Hopefully it won't come to that, but it may...

The music you hear is a little louder once the door cracks open, but isn't coming from this room. You hear lots of laughter & non-discript chatter, not much screaming like in the Orpheus dream, but occasional ignored pleading & moaning.

I'm assuming you haven't opened the door yet... Wait for the others? Open the door now? What order do you all want to be in? (We might be ready for initiative rolls! Smile )

Most, but not all, stop and glance up at you two and look surprised to see someone come through that door. Everyone except the 4 ladies to the W cooking and serving, the rest are playing, talking, or just hanging out.

Angel, Ashe, & Telgarth are outside, I assume squeezing to stay within blackout zones of the security cameras. Angel catches the door just at the last moment before it swung closed and relatched and 10+10=20 perception hear a lot of talking and playing gradually quiet down, but not altogether stop. None of you can see into the room to make the door appear fully closed and latched as usual.

You can't actually see the stairs from where you are, but it's the grey platform to your NW. You know it's the stairs because the music is louder there and coming from above. You also hear sounds of a waitress clanking trays and dishes just out of view on the same platform.

Ember moves 6 squares from where she is and is about half way to the platform of the stairs, just about to round the corner out of view of Blade. She sees the back of a waitress walking out of view.

    Blade's turn...

Post Script: This looks to be a huge kitchen area for prepping food. You note it's at least roughly the same size as the entire casino gaming level above.

I have Angel, Ember, and Telgarth, but I stil need wish lists for Blade & Ashe of 7th or 8th level items (or lower) you might like to happen to find in upcoming treasure). There just might be some useful magic items somewhere in this building... Very Happy Cool

Blade said he was trying to bluff his way in. Did you need more of a description or is it someone else's turn?

Yes, but he & Ember went in bluffing last round, and now it's Blade's turn again for a standard action after he went in...

Do either of you say anything as you enter the room and walk toward the stairs? A good portion of the room was surprised by your entry and look over to you both...

Is there an area to hide inside the service entrance? I would like to be inside the building.

An Eladrin man dressed as a dealer gets up from his table and says, "Whoa there brother! You're pretty late to the party... No more fun to be had up there anymore. Might as well hang out here until Witching Hour." (Looking at Ember) "She'll be a good one to sire, is she juiced? We have plenty of Orpheus to go around... Why you here so late?"

You don't know yet unless Angel wants to open the door, which may effectively blow Blade & Ember's cover. The 3 outside can hear the conversation inside but can't & haven't seen in. Let me know if you want to hold position and/or do anything else.

    Otherwise, Ember then Blade again...

Move & Standard: still moving towards the stair at 2/3 speed (4+4 spaces) but walking and talking like I'm high on the Orpheus drugs (for same reason to cut off route to get reinforcements)
Free: say "baby, I thought you said the party was upstairs"
