I believe I have one more interrupt if I get hit by melee attack. I will note however that it is going down really fast. I hit it once for 14 and it appears like it is halfway dead already.

Candelos' turn:
Move: move adjacent to the Skull Lord (provoking an AoO from the vampire next to Kaddim)
AoO Claw attack 35 vs Ac hits for 6+5-5hp of damage. (The vampire seems to do more damage in this area...)

Minor: mark the Skull Lord (overwriting Kaddim's daily power mark)

Standard: use Holy Strike
HS 32 vs Ac hits for 12+2hp of radiant damage (it looks like he took extra damage).
The attack reduces the Skull Lord to zero hit points. One of his heads is destroyed, then he is healed back to max hitpoints.


Candelos uses an Action Point and regains 9hp

Standard: attack with Holy Strike 24 vs Ac hits for 13hp of radiant damage. (it looks like he took extra damage)

Yes, just one vampire left...

The Skull Lord looked a lot more intimidating that he really was.

I was surprised the party spent so much time focusing on the vampires when the Skull Lord would just raise them and get two other attacks.

Once his main attack power was disabled, he couldn't put up much of a fight.


Since there is just one minion remaining lets just say Miri or Candelos finishes it off.

I think the party handicapped yourselves at the beginning of the encounter (Kaddim not healed up, few members used light), but you guys pulled it out in the end.

Searching the room the party doesn't find any treasure on the downed undead.

Examining the room Kaddim and Miri notes:
The pillars block all natural light into or out of the areas they enclose.
The pillars also seem to regenerate when damaged.

Candelos examines the statues and notes
The NE statues grants undead the chance to critical on a 19-20
The NW statues increases all necrotic damage by 5
The SW statue grants undead 5 temp hitpoints when they hit something
The SE statue increases all defenses of undead by 1

Also the room itself imposes Vulnerability 5 to all bloodied living creatures.

Challenging room... Twisted Evil they put a lot of work into it.


What next?

...oh man, that's a tough room. Very well thought out however. Giving my a lot of ideas here for when I DM.

Sonya will go into the hall and pick up her axe.

Sonya will suggest that we just rest here, trying for an extended rest.

yeah, that made it basically 6 different rooms if you count outside the room as well. 4 quadrants and the hallways in between are the other 5.

If its a extended rest can I get a item made?
I don't recall the exact name without the character builder but I think it's called a Sunblade.
+2 and it gives off light and does radiant damage.

Sure could have used it this encounter

Concur. Great room from a designer's pov.

I say we rest up here. Miri wants new boots when we rest up (level up?) but isn't quite sure how much gold, or more importantly residuum, she has. Let's split up all the treasure we've found so far, dust absolutely everything nobody wants as a treasure pick, make as many items as we can, then rest up & go downstairs to take back all of Kaddim's stuff ...and then some!

Miri will also dust for anyone any back up items or whatever if you're short on residuum. We're at the home stretch before we've beaten everything in this pyramid, so little sense in waiting for later. We might not have many extended rests left in this prison.

Everybody please post what items you want and how much gold and/or residuum you have and Sonya and/or Ken, please post what treasure we've found but yet to divvy up.

Post Script: Ken, when I switched to the new Asus laptop, I lost which rituals Miri should know. I have her starting ones, but not any of the ones she's found, which was quite a bit. Is that easy or hard to look up?

PPS: Miri will spend 2 healing surges to get full up.

You mentioned a shard in the last battle so I assumed Kaddim had it.

It only works on implement powers so Miri may be a better fit for it, but Kaddim does have a few implement powers as well.

I could use it with a couple of powers only, but she can hit multiple enemies with many of her powers. I thought I had the Lightning Shard.
