Campaign Recommendations

Stu, This would make a pretty sweet Campaign. It would make a great TV Show too.

Cool... liked the girl in the ski googles... hmmm... the plot and background gave me some interesting ideas. I like it...

I think a Stargate like campaign could do well.

You'd have a portal that could "dial up" other portals in the same world, other worlds, or other planes.

You could have multi-layed missions where the group would need to accomplish some task, gain new "addresses" for other portals, battle recurring enemies from other worlds/planes that have similar or competing interests.

I think this would be better for paragon to epic characters though. A few heroic adventures could be run to set things up. Or advancement could be determined by what portal addresses are unlocked.

I like the Stargate setting.
It can easily justify any kind of encounter.

I prefer Paragon level play. Levels 11-20.
More monsters to chose from at Paragon. More powers also.

I'd like a little boosted stats.
Nothing crazy like Buffy-verse. Maybe +2 on two stats.

I like Stargate as well. I have the first couple seasons on DVD if you want to borrow them.

Anything with multiple planes with some type of overarching story line would work well for a new campaign.

I would prefer the epic levels but paragon works too. I really like going from paragon to epic as it gives you that continuity and growth of a character.

For an increase in power level I would prefer we do the commonly house ruled "feat tax" benefit. Everyone gets one expertise and one defensive feat as those feats are so good that every build will have them. Essentially becoming a feat tax. I grabbed a couple of quick links that detail it a bit better.

That frees up two feat slots to use on customizing your character instead of making sure it meets power level requirements to be a decent character.

Another rule that we could consider using is the inherent bonus rule in the character builder. That way if we run many science fiction related adventures people won't be using purely fantasy based items simply because of the math. I believe the Dark Sun rules also include granting critical dice per inherent enhancement bonus.
