One thing I'd like to bring up is that it's always a bad idea to split the party up.

I thought the encounter with the Yaun-ti went on a lot longer than it should have.

If the whole party had stayed on the first level, the three enemies could have been taken out in a round or two.

This would have also saved resources (HP, surges, heals) used that could have been used more efficiently had the whole party joined the battle together on level 2.

I would have to agree that it's the best tactically to stay together.
But Ross puts the battle/calls for help on the 2nd level to make the "good" aligned PC make a choice.
Stu charge to the 2nd level was a goodly thing to do (roll playing). But I'm not sure if his Githyanki is good.
Most likely his real life personality shining thru.

Once he when to the 2nd level Nik-Nak had to follow or he would have been toast.
Overall, the party still wins out. Very Happy

True, it would have been more efficient for us, but the way the GM set up the encounter, it was the only way to protect both Ibuki & the ship captain. ...On further reflection, Camella Ann agrees our First Mate should have stuck with the party!  pirat

Not too sure how much my "aid" would have helped against the invaders on the bridge. The ship is a pretty constrained area to fight in, makes it interesting and changes tactics a bit.

Keeping the party together might be a bit of "meta-gaming" don't you think? As it was, I never got below -40 hits (cause I can heal myself) but did appreciate the backup - thanks Mick!

Don't think I was wounded on the bridge... between my temp hits and all, my 136 hits last a long time.

It's never a good idea to split the party up when you don't know what you're facing.

The party is actually very good at fighting in tight quarters. The Bard can slide enemies and allies almost at will. Chiana can teleport in and out of combat. The strikers can do single target or area damage as needed.

A healer healing themselves is almost always sub optimal. Healing is best served when used on front line defenders or melee strikers.

Splitting the party caused the battle in the bridge to take much longer than it should have. Its not that the defenders were in danger of dying, but that they couldn't help in other areas.

Tordek and Chiana do ok damage, but a full striker assisting would have ended the battle in a round or so.

Having defenders on the upstairs battle would have saved more party resources and take them out quicker.

Splitting up is ok when doing recon, but we need to regroup and hit things as a unit.

...might have been better for the party, as far a optimizing the conservation of resources, but then the Captain would have likely been killed. Also, Archemidies didn't know that just the Captain was at risk, but there may have been additional crew members that could have been saved...

...and before anyone says that we shouldn't care about the allied NPC's, if they were all dead, I don't think we could pilot or operate the ship.

That's not what Camella Ann is saying, just that you saved the only NPC she wouldn't mind falling. But yeah, Achimedes couldn't have known that when he split the party...
