Neverwinter (FREE MMORPG)

The Neverwinter Beta is now live.

I haven't played it yet, but here is the opening cinematic.

Yes! It wouldn't be a true Neverwinter game without a content-creation tool! Players will be able to shape and add to the world of Neverwinter by creating and building their own adventures or full-fledged campaigns from the ground up using The Foundry for Neverwinter.

I will be downloading this soon. Looks decent but I was hoping it would be more of a true MMO not an action one.

I think it's kind of like DDO, where you have a base of operations and go to different adventures (modules). Just guessing on that though.

This game is a lot of fun. It's very much like Diablo as far as game play, but it also has the usual MMO features.
The really cool thing about it is people can create modules, and post them for the public to play. I played a couple of them, and they were really fun. I went to the Abyss and fought Balors and swarms of imps. I even went through a Vampire themed module that was awesome, although all the text was in French, but you could still tell what was going on.

Sounds good, I downloaded the game but didn't install yet. Will do that today.

OK before you get too high level on your low level guy switch him to Mindflayer. My brother and his friends are on the mindflayer server. I made a Great Weapon Half Orc on Mindflayer and will probably make a cleric as well.

FYI: Eventually they will be merging all the servers into one. Not sure when that will be though.

Looks like I am going to be a slow leveler as usual. I am up to 7 now on my Great Warrior. I will probably be creating the Cleric tonight to see how that class plays. Krystoff is the character name but I am not sure how I show up in the search pages or what my handle is.

That would be awesome if they merge all three of the servers and make it one giant server.

I tried to download Neverwiter but it hung up at about 75% complete.
I did download and play MarelHeroes. I wasn't bad, I played for a couple hours and made it to 11th. It's like Diablo 2 with a superhero.
I'll try and download again. How long is the Beta going to run?

I like NW better than Marvel so far. Little more behind the back camera and less top down. Still have to see about the leveling and powers but so far it is decent.

Played Neverwinter last night for an hour. It was fun.
I've got a 5th level rogue. Made him on the Mindflayer server.

I made my Cleric and got him up to 7 last night. Clerics name is Nevin. Friends are global across characters so if you friend me on one you will be able to see me on either char.

Do your friends/brother have a guild? If not should I make one?

As far as I know they don't. Go ahead and create one. We will probably need to recreate once we hit live.

I have to have a full party to create a guild.

Chris, I sent you an invite last night, but you need to go into your Social window and accept.

Apparently you can only invite friends when they are online.

I've been playing with that. I am working on a way to automate it though so I don't have to click myself.

I've been having a lot of fun with this game. Just hit level 40 with my Rogue and 38 with my Wizard.

Check out this level 60 Gauntlegrim Dungeon with some PvP encounters as well as normal monster fights.

I think I see you on every once in a while. Are you the bob patrick in my friends list?

I am still 29 on my cleric and so far I really enjoy it. Need to quest more as I don't really get out there. I do the foundry quests and pvp/skirmishes and that pretty much gets me my levels.

I'm having a good time also.
Mostly quests and Foundry quests.
Currently level 30 rogue and level 8 cleric.
I haven't done any party quest or PvP.
We should try and party up sometime.

PvP is lots of fun. I have done some skirmishes as well, but haven't been able to finish a dungeon yet. My party always gets killed by the end boss.

Yes, we should get together, but my characters are working on level 40. We can still party up for some dungeons or something though. I don't think you'll get any experience when linked with me though.

Ive been playing some skirmishes. Crazy free-for-all against the monsters but lots of fun. It's great having clerics in the party. hardly ever had to use potions.

I deleted my low level cleric. He kept getting killed in quests that my rogue breezed thru.

Currently my rogue is 34th

My cleric has always done fairly well in questing. I have so much healing that I almost never have to worry about dieing but killing monsters takes a while. I have the cleric companion as well.

I have 2 60's now, but need help in a few of the quests, particularly in the Drow caverns.

I'm still playing but haven't really been on much lately. Going on vacation the next couple of days to Vegas but I will try to play more.

That's what they were doing last night. Good to know.

Check out these screen shots I took from in-game.

They have an instance where you become a DnD miniature and are thrown into a live tabletop game. You see the players giant size sitting around the table. My character's legs don't move and are attached to a black base, but I have all of my powers. Dice are strewn about, and some are even used as monsters, kind of like when we would run out of figures to represent creatures. Kind of funny to see the dice hopping after you with the word "Orc Archer" above them. The DM even has a DM Screen. It's too bad this only lasts until 4/4/2014.
